  10/13/22 - Michael TriggrSr/2026, Baylor, 6-4, 240 (DS#3 TE) + More +

The Ole Miss offense just took a major hit to the chest as tight end Michael Trigg is likely going to miss the rest of the season due to a broken collarbone he suffered in last week's game against Vanderbilt. First reported by Chuck Rounsaville of On3 Sports, the injury appeared to happen at the 2:40 mark of the third quarter. Quarterback Jaxson Dart threw the ball down the middle of the field to connect with Trigg for a big gain.

Trigg caught the ball and he was tackled with all of the pressure going towards his right clavicle. It didn't look too serious with the way Trigg got up and ran off the field, but unfortunately, that was not the case. As soon as he ran towards the sideline, his right arm was hanging down from his body, and you could tell that he couldn't move it. On Monday, head coach Lane Kiffin was asked about any updates on Trigg's injury, and he refused to give out the information to the public. "We don't really have any public injury information like always," Kiffin said. - Daily Mississippian

The Bears held their opponent to 30 or fewer points for the 18th consecutive game. - Big 12 Football

  09/08/22 - Adonis FrilouxrSr/2026, Baylor, 6-1, 367 (DS#198 DT) + More +

Tulane football coach Willie Fritz stopped just short of confirming what sources indicated after Saturday's 42-10 trouncing of UMass—that projected starting nose tackle Adonis Friloux is out for the year with an ACL tear. Friloux, a sophomore from Hahnville who started the final three games of 2021, was hurt in practice last week. His performance in preseason camp prompted new defensive line coach Travian Robertson to say he could dominate in the American Athletic Conference. "We think so (Friloux will miss the season)," Fritz said. "We're going to find out for sure in the next couple of days. Unfortunately that's the only part of the game I don't like. It's a tough, hard-nosed, physical sport, different than all other sports on the planet. Sometimes unfortunately this occurs." - New Orleans Times Picayune

  08/29/22 - Ben SimsrSr/2023, Baylor, 6-5, 250 (DS#17 TE) + More +

Baylor is in need of experienced pass catchers following the departure of wide receivers Tyquan Thornton, R.J. Sneed and Drew Estrada. The trio combined for 1,888 of the Bears' 2,843 receiving yards (66.4 percent) last season, but Ben Sims is a fifth-year tight end who figures to help fill that void. The 6-4, 253-pound veteran hauled in 31 catches for 361 yards and six touchdowns last season. Sims is a preseason All-Big 12 First Team honoree who boasts steady hands and a large frame that's hard to miss in the end zone, which should make him a favorite option for redshirt sophomore quarterback Blake Shapen. - Daily Oklahoman
