  11/18/21 - Rachaad WhiterSr/2022, Arizona State, 6-1, 215 (DS#9 RB) + More +

NOV 15 PAC-12 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rachaad White, RS Sr., RB, Arizona State (Kansas City, MO),...Second player to win this award back-to-back this season, with Utah's Cameron Rising taking it home in Week Six and Seven. It's the first time a Sun Devil has captured this honor in consecutive weeks...Willed his team to a 35-30 road victory over Washington in the pouring rain. With the Sun Devils trailing 24-14 in the fourth quarter, White and the Sun Devil offensive line took over. By the time they were done, ASU had a 35-24 lead, completely dominating the line of scrimmage down the stretch...White rushed for 184 yards on 32 carries, scoring a pair of touchdowns. He also added five catches for 53 yards as the leading receiver for the Sun Devils. Accounted for 237 of ASU's 376 total yards of offense (63%). Has recorded 100 all-purpose yards in nine of his 13 career games as a Sun Devil and eclipsed the 200-yard all-purpose mark for the second-straight game.

It is his fourth 100-yard rushing game of his career, with two coming in the last two games. He has combined to rush for 386 yards in the past two games. That's the most in a two-game span since Eno Benjamin had 432 over two games against Oregon State and Colorado in 2018. His 184 rushing yards are the seventh-best ever by a Sun Devil back in a road Pac-12 game...He now has 14 rushing touchdowns this season, moving him into a tie for 8th in ASU single season history. White has multiple touchdowns in eight of his 13 games played at Arizona State and at least one touchdown in 11 games. Also nominated: Dorian Thompson-Robinson, QB, UCLA; Chance Nolan, QB, Oregon State; Anthony Brown, QB, Oregon; Cameron Rising, QB, Utah. - Pac-12 Football

  11/18/21 - *Dohnovan WestJr/2022, Arizona State, 6-3, 309 (DS#6 C) + More +

NOV 15 PAC-12 OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK: Dohnovan West, Jr., C, Arizona State (Mission Hills, CA),...Second time West has achieved this honor, also doing it in December of 2020. Teammate LaDarius Henderson also won this award in Week Five of this season...Led the way for a dominant effort from the Arizona State offensive line in the 35-30 road victory over Washington. In extremely wet conditions, the offensive line needed to take over, and they did exactly that. West and company paved the way for 286 rushing yards, coming through in the biggest of moments. In the fourth quarter, the Sun Devils ran the ball all but two plays, on their way to scoring two touchdowns on back-to-back drives. West had a pancake and two knockdowns, while not allowing a sack...ASU has rushed for at least 100 yards as a team in 14 straight games. It is the longest streak of rushing for over 100 yards as a team since the last 10 games of 1995 and the first 11 of 1996 - a 21-game stretch over two seasons. The Sun Devils carried the ball 57 times, the most rushing attempts since running 59 times in a 31-28 victory over UCLA on Nov. 10, 2018...Also nominated: Sataoa Laumea, RG, Utah; T.J. Bass, LT, Oregon; Marco Brewer, LG, Oregon State. - Pac-12 Football

  11/14/21 - Rachaad WhiterSr/2022, Arizona State, 6-1, 215 (DS#9 RB) + More +

With rain pouring and several season goals slipping away, Arizona State put it in low gear Saturday night with a 20-play, 81-yard drive that consumed more than 9 minutes and almost all of problem-plagued Washington's resolve. By the time the drive was over the Sun Devils had reversed the momentum and erased a 14-point deficit against a team reeling from off-the-field problems. "I was so tired. I was looking at the D lineman look at me and I was acting like I wasn't tired," guard LaDarius Henderson said as he mimicked his fierce face. "But you've got to fight, you've got to finish." The Sun Devils ((7-3, 5-2 Pac-12) did just that as Jayden Daniels capped the drive with a 5-yard touchdown run to cut the lead to 24-21 midway through the fourth quarter. Rachaad White rushed for 184 yards and two scores and completed the comeback with a 10-yard touchdown run with 1:11 left. Merlin Robinson put the game away with a pick-6 with 37 seconds left.

Arizona State remains one game back in the Pac-12 South with two games to go, and will be relying on White to continue to carry the load. "(Coaches and teammates) look me in my eye and they understand where we're at at this point point in the season and what is going on," White said. "So, honestly, it felt great for me because I want to step up my game. They need me to be there for them and I need them to be there for me." Arizona State coach Herm Edwards said the team regained its footing while holding off USC for a 31-16 win last week after losing two in a row. It was a game that also was decided in the fourth quarter. "It says something about the team in the fourth quarter and having to do that two in a row," Edwards said. "It says a lot. I think last week's game was a game that they found their swagger again, playing at home against USC and it's a 17-16 game in the fourth quarter. And they didn't blink." - Arizona State/AP College Football

NOV 8 PAC-12 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rachaad White, RS Sr., RB, Arizona State (Kansas City, MO),...Delivered a historic performance in Arizona State's 31-16 victory over USC. White ran for a career-high 202 yards on only 28 carries (7.2 ypc), scoring three touchdowns on the ground. His rushing total was good for the third-most in the NCAA this week...It is the sixth-most rushing yards by a Sun Devil in a Pac-10/12 game (since 1978). He added two catches for 35 yards to give him 337 of ASU's 427 total yards of offense (78.9 percent)...White is the first player to rush for over 200 yards since Eno Benjamin's school record 312 yards against Oregon State in 2018. It was the 22nd instance of a Sun Devil rushing for over 200 yards in program history and the 16th individual to reach the milestone. The 202 yards were the third-most in the 38 games played in the series between the two teams. It was the first time USC had allowed a 200-yard rusher since UCLA Josh Kelly in 2018 (289).   11/07/21 - Rachaad WhiterSr/2022, Arizona State, 6-1, 215 (DS#9 RB) + More +

A fox ran onto the field at Sun Devil Stadium, leaped over a wall and scampered up the steps before hiding under a seat. It returned about a minute later around the 10-yard line, dodged a few workers and sprinted up a ramp out of site. Rachaad White made Southern California's defenders know how the workers felt with a foxy mix of power, speed and elusiveness. White became the sixth Arizona State player to run for 200 yards in a Pac-10/12 game, racking up 202 yards and three touchdowns Saturday night to help the Sun Devils bounce back from two ugly losses with 31-16 win over USC. "I hope that fox comes back," White said. "We need him." And the Sun Devils (6-2, 4-1 Pac-12) needed White after lackluster losses to Utah and Washington State.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels was mostly ineffective, throwing for 145 yards with two interceptions - both by Xavion Alford. White made up for it after missing last week's game with a right leg injury, racing off on two long touchdowns and a game-sealing short one in the closing minutes. "Three (White) was running and the offensive line was blocking well," Arizona State coach Herm Edwards said. USC (4-5, 3-3) alternated between Kedon Slovis and Jaxson Dart at quarterback - and neither could seem to get into a rhythm. Dart scored on a 9-yard run, but the Trojans had to settle for three Parker Lewis field goals when they had a chance to build a lead. Slovis threw for 131 yards on 16-of-28 passing and Dart was 8 of 16 for 89 yards. Both threw interceptions and the run game didn't help much, managing 92 yards on 27 carries. - Arizona State/AP College Football

  10/09/21 - Jeff SimsrSr/2026, Arizona State, 6-3, 215 (DS#63 RB) + More +

Adonicas Sanders caught a 36-yard touchdown throw from Jeff Sims with 51 seconds left to help Georgia Tech rally past Duke 31-27 on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets (3-3, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) got the ball with 1:42 left and no timeouts at their own 12-yard line. But Sims targeted Sanders for the two big plays on the go-ahead drive, first when he beat Jeremiah Lewis deep down the right side for a 37-yard gain. Then came Sanders catch at the goalline, securing the deep ball despite Lewis committing a pass-interference penalty in a desperate attempt to break up the pass. Those were Sanders’ only catches of the game.

Duke (3-3, 0-2) had one more drive to respond and crossed midfield, but Juanyeh Thomas intercepted an overthrown ball from Gunnar Holmberg over the middle with 15 seconds left to seal this one. Sims threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions for Georgia Tech, which scored the game’s first 14 points but found itself in a tight finish to the final seconds. One of those three scoring throws was a 77-yard pass to Jahmyr Gibbs - who was left completely uncovered coming out of the backfield for an easy catch-and-run on the left side on the Yellow Jackets’ first possession. - Georgia Tech/AP College Football

  10/08/21 - Jack JonesrSr/2022, Arizona State, 5-11, 177 (DS#34 CB) + More +

Jack Jones stepped in front of the receiver, caught the ball and held it out with one hand. Just before he hit the ground, the Arizona State defensive back caught a glimpse of Deandre Pierce and tossed it to his teammate for a spectacular touchdown. The Sun Devils' run game was just as impressive. Pierce scored a 27-yard touchdown on a lateral off Jones' interception and No. 22 Arizona State rode its explosive run game to a 28-10 win over Stanford on Friday night. The Sun Devils (5-1, 3-0 Pac-12) exploited one of the nation's worst run defenses, racking up 255 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

Jayden Daniels provided the balance, throwing for 175 yards and running for 76 more, including a 51-yard touchdown. Their defense gave up some big plays in the passing game, but kept the Cardinal out of the end zone in the second half and created three turnovers - none more exciting than the interception and lateral. "When I got it, I knew it was me and the receiver on an island," Jones said. "I turned around a 'Dre was there. Luckily he caught the ball." Stanford (3-3, 2-2) had no answer for Arizona State's run game and became one dimensional offensively after falling behind, limited to 9 yards rushing on 20 carries. Tanner McKee threw for 356 yards and a touchdown, but had his first three interceptions of the season, including Pierce's back-breaking TD in the third quarter. - Arizona State/AP College Football
