Old Dominion Football   Trequan Jones scored on runs of 14, 39, and a program-record 93 yards, Colton Joseph threw three touchdown passes and ran for a TD, and Old Dominion beat North Carolina Central 54-6 on Saturday night. Jones finished with four carries for 160 yards and Joseph was 19-of-24 passing for 257 yards with no interceptions and added 51 yards rushing, including a 2-yard TD for Old Dominion (1-1). N.C. Central punter Brandon Bowman, standing on the goal line, bobbled a snap and was tackled in the end zone by Nickendre Stimon for a safety to open the scoring and Jones scored on a 39-yard run to cap ODU's ensuing possession and make it 9-0 with 1:59 left in the first quarter.

Bowman's 44-yard punt pinned the Monarch at their own 7 early in the third quarter, but on the next play from scrimmage Jones ripped off the longest run in ODU history to make it 23-3. Joseph threw touchdown passes to Na'eem Abdul-Rahim Gladding late in the second quarter, Ja'Cory Thomas and TJ Lott. Kaleb Robison kicked field goals of 39 and 27 yards for for N.C. Central (1-2). The Monarchs scored at least 50 points for the first time since the 2021 season. Old Dominion offensive tackle Zach Barlev was carted off the field early in the third quarter and did not return. Barlev, who started each of the Monarchs' 13 games last season, was replaced by Virginia Tech transfer Griffin Duggan. Eagles defensive back Malcolm Reed, a first team all-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference selection in 2024, left the game in the fourth quarter and did not return. - Old Dominion/AP College Football

Arkansas Football   Quarterback Taylen Green accounted for 420 total yards, running for 151 yards on nine attempts and one touchdown while passing for 269 yards and four scores, in leading Arkansas past Arkansas State 56-14 on Saturday. A contest between in-state colleges 50 years in the making - at least for one university's fan base - easily went the way of the bigger program that had refused to schedule it until Saturday, as Arkansas (2-0) of the Southeastern Conference ran roughshod over the Sun Belt Conference's A-State. Arkansas scored inside the first 39 seconds of the game, a two-play, 75-yard drive finished by Mike Washington's 53-yard run through left tackle, and went on to pile up four scores and 191 yards on the ground in the opening quarter.

Green found Raylen Sharpe for a 37-yard touchdown pass and ran through the middle for 64 yards and a score, as the Razorbacks led 28-7 within the first 10 minutes of the game. Arkansas State's only answer in that time was a 98-yard kickoff return by Chauncy Cobb, as the Razorbacks' defense overwhelmed the Red Wolves' offense. But Arkansas's offense idled most of the second quarter with a determined but shaky passing game. Green was intercepted twice in the first half – one play after the defense turned the ball over at ASU's 30 late in the first quarter - and had three passes batted down by the Red Wolves' defensive front. Green broke the Hogs' second-quarter drought by engineering a 12-play, 83-yard drive, throwing 8 yards to Jalen Brown for the score with 53 seconds left in the half. His touchdown passes of 33 yards to tight end Rohan Jones and 14 yards to wideout O'Mega Blake in the third quarter left no doubt. - Arkansas/AP College Football

After a Jackson State field goal, Robert Briggs Jr. added a 15-yard touchdown run for the Golden Eagles, making it 38-13.

Ahmad Miller's 8-yard run wrapped up the scoring for the Tigers of the FCS. Braxton completed 20 of 30 passes for 214 yards. The Golden Eagles (1-1) had 224 total passing yards and 139 rushing.   Navy Football   Blake Horvath accounted for three touchdowns and Navy forced three turnovers and shut out UAB in the second half for a 38-24 victory on Saturday in the American Conference opener for both teams. Horvath's 4-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter gave Navy a 31-24 lead. Alex Tecza bullied into the end zone from the 1 to cap an 82-yard drive to open the fourth for the Midshipmen.

Horvath completed 6 of 8 passes for 168 yards and threw a 63-yard touchdown pass to Luke Hutchison in the second quarter. Horvath also had a 1-yard TD run to cap the Midshipmen's opening drive. Horvath finished with 72 yards rushing and Tecza had 111 on the ground to lead Navy (2-0, 1-0). UAB (1-1, 0-1) closed the first half with a missed a field goal and then opened the second with a fumble, a punt after three plays, and two Jalen Kitna interceptions. Kitna was 22-of-32 passing for 304 yards that included a 51-yard touchdown pass to Iverson Hooks and a 25-yarder to Corri Milliner.   Nevada Football   Jonathan Maldonado returned an interception 36 yards for a touchdown with 2:17 to play and Nevada defeated Sacramento State 20-17 on Saturday after the Hornets had touchdowns on consecutive plays in the last minute nullified by penalties before they missed a field goal. Sacramento State quickly marched from its 35 to the Nevada 3 with 29 seconds to go. On a third down, quarterback Cardell Williams scampered nine yards for the apparent go-ahead score but a holding penalty wiped that out.

Williams then threw a touchdown pass from the 19 that was wiped out by a penalty. The Hornets then ran a play to set up a 41-yard field goal attempt that Grant Meadors missed to the right. The Hornets had an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after the miss as well. Nevada quarterback Chubba Purdy threw two interceptions but he rushed for 115 yards on 22 keepers and scored a touchdown. The Wolf Pack (1-1) rushed for 268 yards and Purdy threw for 144. Williams was 10-of-13 passing for 151 for Sacramento State (0-2), which finished with 372 yards. He threw a touchdown pass to Ernest Campbell and Rodney Hammond Jr. had a rushing score. - Nevada/AP College Football

This was the first meeting between the schools. Rutgers snapped a 7-7 tie in the first quarter by scoring 17 straight points in the second quarter to move ahead 24-7. Dequan Finn passed for 251 yards and a touchdown and ran for 85 yards and a TD for Miami (0-2).   Presbyterian Football   Collin Hurst and Nathan Levicki hooked up on a touchdown in overtime - Hurst's fifth TD of the game - and they followed it up with the winning two-point conversion as Presbyterian defeated Furman 39-38 on Saturday. The Blue Hose overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit and a near two-hour weather delay to defeat their in-state rivals. Furman scored first in overtime on Jayquan Smith's 2-yard run. The Paladins kicked for the point after and led 38-31.

Presbyterian (2-0) then scored in two plays - Hurst's 22-yard pass to Dominic Kibby followed by Hurst to Levicki for 3 yards and the touchdown. Hurst then connected with Levicki on the two-point conversion, a play that was confirmed by an official review. It was the first time Presbyterian had the lead. Trailing 31-21 in the fourth quarter, Presbyterian drove to the Furman 8-yard line before the game was delayed with about nine minutes remaining. When play resumed, the Blue Hose settled for a field goal to get within 31-24. Three plays later, Carter Szydlowski recovered a fumble by Furman's CJ Nettles at the 12-yard line. Hurst then hit BJ Atkins for 12 yards and the tying touchdown. Hurst threw for 275 yards and his five touchdowns helped overcome three interceptions. Trey Hedden has 263 yards passing with one touchdown for Furman (1-1). - AP College Football

South Florida Football   Nico Gramatica hit a 20-yard field goal as time expired and South Florida stunned No. 13 Florida 18-16 on Saturday to give the Bulls consecutive wins against ranked opponents to start the season. Gramatica missed a 58-yarder with 2:52 remaining but got a chance to redeem himself after Florida defensive lineman Brandon Bett spit at a South Florida player on the Bulls' next possession. Bett was ejected with a little more than two minutes to play, and the Bulls (2-0) got 15 yards and an automatic first down to spark an 87-yard drive.

It was the latest setback for embattled Florida coach Billy Napier, whose team is 1-1 for the fourth consecutive year. The Gators looked as though they would rally after freshman Vernell Brown III returned a punt 40 yards to set up DJ Lagway's lone touchdown pass. But the Gators flopped down the stretch, an all-too-familiar feeling during Napier's tenure. Napier's play-calling was scrutinized as much as Lagway's rehabilitated throwing shoulder, and the Gators found themselves trailing 15-9 in the fourth quarter following a defensive breakdown and a safety caused by a poor snap. - South Florida/AP College Football

The Rebels (2-0) avenged a 20-17 loss to the Wildcats last year in Oxford and have won four of the past five games against Kentucky. Lacy and quarterback Austin Simmons accounted for 376 of 457 total yards of offense for Ole Miss. Simmons threw for 235 yards and overcame a pair of interceptions that resulted in an early 10-0 deficit.

Harrison Wallace III caught four passes for 117 yards for the Rebels, who had four explosive plays that went for 20 or more yards. Wallace hauled in a 55-yard strike from Simmons in the second quarter that led to Ole Miss' first score. Seth McGowan rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns for Kentucky (1-1).
