Utah State junior linebacker David Woodward announced Monday that he will forgo his final season of eligibility and declare for the 2020 NFL Draft. "I want to thank my family, teammates, coaches and friends who have helped me during my football career," said Woodward. "After spending four great years at Utah State University it is time for me to move on and chase my dream of playing professional football. Therefore, I will forgo my senior season and declare for the 2020 NFL Draft."

Woodward, a top NFL prospect, had a breakout season as a sophomore in 2018, as he started all 12 games he played in and finished the season with 134 tackles (52-solo, 82-assist), which included 5.0 sacks and 12.0 tackles for loss, to go along with two forced fumbles, two interceptions, three pass breakups and four quarterback hurries. Woodward finished the 2018 season ranking first in the MW and 11th in the nation with 134 tackles (11.2 pg). He was also eighth in the MW in forced fumbles with two (0.15 pg), ninth in the MW in tackles for loss with 12.5 (1.0 pg), and 10th in the MW in sacks with five (0.4 pg). - Utah State Football
