Former Virginia Tech quarterback Quincy Patterson will transfer to Temple for the 2022 season, according to ESPN. It is the second transfer in as many years for Patterson, who played this past season at North Dakota State after beginning his college career with the Hokies in 2018. The decision to enter the transfer portal came after Patterson led the Bison to a 7-0 record as the starter this past season before suffering an injury. The dual-threat quarterback still finished with 13 total touchdowns, seven of which came on the ground. During his time with Virginia Tech, he appeared in 11 games from 2018-20, making one start.

His most memorable moment with the Hokies came against North Carolina that season when he scored the game-winning two-point conversion to end the longest game in ACC history, which spanned six overtimes. "It's a shot to be the best me I can be, in a sense" Patterson said regarding his transfer to Temple. "I told all the coaches, I didn't need and guarantees (to start). I just wanted a shot and take it from there and prove what I can do. I know a lot of people know what I can do. I just have to go do it." A former four-star recruit, Patterson ranked as the No. 21 quarterback and No. 270 overall player in the 2018 class according to On3 Consensus. He chose to attend Virginia Tech over offers from Mississippi State, North Carolina, Penn State and others. - On3.com
