Senior defensive lineman Dorian Gerald's status for Saturday's game at Mississippi State remains unclear two days from kickoff. Arkansas coach Sam Pittman said Gerald injured his ankle in the Razorbacks' season-opening loss to No. 4 Georgia and that the staff was taking a wait-and-see approach in terms of his availability this weekend. Gerald, who started against the Bulldogs at the JACK position, did not practice Tuesday. "Well, I don't know," Pittman said Thursday when asked if Gerald had made progress and could factor into the game this week. "We're hoping (he is able to play), but as of right now we'll just have to kind of wait and see." Along the defensive line, Arkansas is expecting sophomore Mataio Soli to return to the rotation. He did not play against Georgia and no reason was given for his absence. If Gerald is unable to play, Soli would seemingly be next in line to start in his place. - Northwest Arkansas Times
