Early on against Georgia Tech, it appeared he was going to reward coaches for picking him. Blackman led the Seminoles on scoring drives of 51 and 62 yards as the team jumped out to an early 10-0 lead. But after the first 15 minutes, FSU's struggled to move the ball. Blackman started the game 7-of-9 passing for 76 yards, Blackman completed just 44% of his passes (16 of 36) for 122 yards and an interception.
