Former University of Miami starting quarterback Jarren Williams has found a new home, per multiple reports. Williams is transferring to Garden City Community College in Kansas, as first reported late Sunday night by @JuCoFootballACE. Williams, who showed significant talent and promise, won the UM starting job before the 2019 season, then fizzled in a season that reached the highest of highs, and finally, the lowest of lows. He redshirted his first season at Miami in 2018, announced his entry to the transfer portal in January and now has three years of eligibility remaining.

By playing at a community college, Williams does not have to sit out a season, which he likely would have had to had he chosen to transfer to a Football Bowl Subdvision member. He could go straight to the NFL after the 2020 season, if he were drafted or signed a free agent's contract. Williams set a Hurricanes' school record with six passing touchdowns Nov. 9 in a dominating 52-27 performance against Louisville. But he ended the 2019 season with three poor performances against FIU, Duke and Louisiana Tech, all losses for the eventual 6-7 Canes. - Miami Herald
