 JaQuan Hardy, Tiffin, Player News

  08/05/20 - RB JaQuan HardyrSr/2021, Tiffin, 5-09, 225 (DS#23 RB) + More +

Division II's seven 2020 fall championships are canceled, the Division II Presidents Council decided Wednesday due to the operational, logistical and financial challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The council made the move after the NCAA Board of Governors directed each division to make a decision on its fall sport championships. The Board of Governors also directed each division to meet various requirements to compete in the fall. Those directives include that all member institutions apply the resocialization principles to fall sports and set a 50% sponsorship threshold for a fall sport championship to be conducted, among other requirements. As of Wednesday, 11 of the 23 Division II conferences had announced they will not compete during the traditional fall season. - NCAA.com

2019 ALL-GREAT MIDWEST FIRST TEAM (COACHES): JaQUAN HARDY - Tiffin University - Running Back - RS Junior,...Hardy ranks first in the GMAC at 140.5 rush yards per game and second with 14 rushing touchdowns. Of running backs with at least 45 attempts, he leads the conference at 7.9 yards per carry. In Division II, he is seventh in yards per carry, sixth in rushing yards per game, and 12th in rushing touchdowns. Hardy is knocking on the door of the GMAC single-season rushing yard record of 1,554 yards set by Findlay's Daouda Sylla in 2017. With 1,405 yards on the ground, the redshirt junior needs 150 to surpass the mark. He is also currently in line to break the single-season yards per game and yards per carry conference records. - Tiffin University Football

2019 AFCA DIVISION II COACHES' SECOND TEAM ALL-AMERICAN: RB JaQuan Hardy, R-Jr., Tiffin (Ohio),...Hardy is the lone GMAC football player represented on the two teams. The honor adds to the recognition Hardy has received after a sensational junior season in which he was named 2019 GMAC Player of the Year, First Team All-GMAC, and three-time GMAC Offensive Player of the Week. In addition, he was 1st in GMAC and 3rd in DII with 1,554 total rushing yards; 1st in GMAC and 6th in DII with 7.62 yards per carry, 1st in GMAC and 7th in DII with 141.3 rushing yards per game, and tied for 1st in GMAC and 10th in DII with 15 rushing touchdowns.

Hardy's AFCA honor is the first such honor for a TU football player since 1993 when TU Hall of Fame inductee Brian Diliberto was named as a running back as well. Hardy's season was also historic. His 1554 rushing yards was most in TU's Division II history, second-most all-time at TU, and tied for highest total in GMAC history. His 141.3 yards per game broke the program's DII record by over 40 ypg and also set a new GMAC record. He continued to rewrite the GMAC record book with 7.62 yards per carry, while his 15 rushing touchdowns is the most in TU DII history, third all-time at TU, and tied for fifth in GMAC history. He also set a program-record and GMAC record 94-yard touchdown run against Walsh on Sept. 21. - Tiffin Football

  11/22/19 - RB JaQuan HardyrSr/2021, Tiffin, 5-09, 225 (DS#23 RB) + More +

2019 GREAT MIDWEST PLAYER OF THE YEAR (COACHES): JaQuan Hardy, Tiffin, Running Back,...Hardy is just one of the keys to the ignition that makes the league's top-scoring offense go full throttle. The redshirt junior is going into the NCAA Championship game vs. Kutztown with a league-leading 1,405 yards on the ground in 10 games. With a big game on Saturday or a Tiffin win to move into the second round, Hardy could very well break the single-season conference rushing record. Hardy was a legitimate threat to take it to the house with a long run of 94 yards, but he can also grind out yards on first contact between the tackles. He was named Great Midwest Offensive Player of the Week three different times during the 2019 season. - Great Midwest Athletic Conference Football
