2021 ALL-SEC FIRST TEAM (COACHES): LB Damone Clark, LSU,...A Baton Rouge native who prepped at Southern Lab, Clark had a breakout season for the Tigers, leading the LSU defense in nearly every statistical category. In addition to his 135 tackles, Clark r ecorded team highs in tackles for loss (15.5), sacks (5.5), turnovers created (4), and forced fumbles (2). Clark's 15.5 tackles for loss are the most by an LSU player since 2012 when Kevin Minter recorded 15. It also ranks as the second-highest total in LSU history for a linebacker, trailing only Michael Brooks, who had 16 in 1985. He added an interception and a fumble recovery to go along with three pass breakups and a pair of quarterback hurries for one of the most complete seasons for a linebacker in school history. - LSU Football

SEPT 27 SEC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Damone Clark, LB, LSU,...Set a career-high with 15 tackles in LSU's win over Mississippi State...On opening possession of game, scooped up a fumble at the LSU 30-yard line and returned it 35 yards setting up the Tigers' first touchdown of the game...LSU never trailed in the contest after going up 7-0 following the Mississippi State turnover...LSU's defense was on the field for 88 plays and limited the Bulldogs to 5.5 yards per play...Mississippi State's first se ven possessions of the game resulted in only one field goal as the Tigers forced the Bulldogs to punt 3 times, forced 2 turnovers and a missed field goal late into the third quarter. - SEC Football
