Georgia running back DAndre Swift, the team's leading rusher for two straight decisions, is entering the NFL draft. Swift, a junior, made his decision public on his Twitter account on Friday. The decision was expected after he led the Bulldogs with 1,218 yards rushing this season. It was his second straight season with more than 1,000 yards. Swift says the decision came after he and his family "spent a considerable amount of time determining what's best for me." Swift (5-9, 215) is expected to be one of the top running backs in the draft, even after he was limited by a left shoulder injury in the postseason. He had only one carry for two yards in Georgia's Sugar Bowl win over Baylor. Georgia is awaiting NFL decisions from other top players, including quarterback Jake Fromm. - AP College Football

Georgia offensive linemen Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Wilson announced Tuesday they are entering the NFL draft. Running back D'Andre Swift said he will wait until after the Jan. 1 Sugar Bowl to make a decision on whether to give up his final college season to turn pro. Thomas, an Associated Press first-team All-American, announced on social media that he will skip the bowl game in New Orleans to begin preparing for the draft. He is expected to be a top-10 pick. "Since I was a kid, I've dreamed of playing in the National Football League," Thomas wrote. "Today, I am taking a step to turn that dream into a reality."

Wilson also made his announcement on social media. Though he didn't specifically say whether he plans to play when No. 5 Georgia (11-2) faces No. 8 Baylor (11-2), he seemed to indicate that is college career is over. "I will surely miss blocking between the hedges but it's time for the next man up!" Wilson wrote. "I will begin preparing for the next chapter in my life!" Swift is expected to enter the draft, but he said Tuesday he's still pondering his future. The junior back will apparently play in the Sugar Bowl, looking to add to his 1,216 yards rushing this season. "I have not made my decision yet," Swift said on Twitter. "I will decide after the bowl game!!!" - AP College Football

Georgia edged past Alabama to No. 4 in The Associated Press college football poll after the Bulldogs had a quality road victory and the Crimson Tide lost star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for the season. LSU remained No. 1 in the AP Top 25 presented by Regions Bank, receiving 54 first-places votes. No. 2 Ohio State (five first-place votes) and No. 3 Clemson (three first-place votes) maintained their spots. Georgia moved up one place after winning 21-14 at Auburn.

The Crimson Tide beat Mississippi State 38-7 on Saturday, but Tagovailoa dislocated his right hip while being tackled late in the second quarter and is done for the year. Alabama fell a spot to fifth. Minnesota and Baylor both lost for the first time and dropped in the rankings. The 11th-ranked Gophers slipped four spots after losing at Iowa. No. 13 Baylor dropped one after blowing a 28-3 lead at home to Oklahoma. Iowa jumped four to No. 19 and Oklahoma moved up two spots to No. 8. - AP College Football

D'Andre Swift began the week asking Georgia coaches to get the ball to the team's playmakers in space. Swift finished the week showing what he can do with those opportunities. Swift's 39-yard touchdown run in the third quarter snapped a scoreless tie, and No. 10 Georgia overcame a slow start to beat Kentucky 21-0 on Saturday night. Swift, who ran for 179 yards, added a 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Brian Herrien ran for 60 yards, including an 8-yard TD. Each offense was affected by Nestor, the former tropical storm which dumped rain on Athens throughout the day.

Swift told his teammates at halftime he wanted to take a lead role for the offense after it was clear this was not a night for a productive passing game. "That's exactly what I told them," Swift said. "I talked at halftime and told them `Keep doing what you're doing. It's on me. I've got y'all. I've got us." Georgia (6-1, 3-1) recovered from last week's loss to South Carolina by finally taking advantage of its Southeastern Conference-leading ground game in the second half. The Bulldogs ran for 235 yards, including 140 in the second half. Left tackle Andrew Thomas said Swift "makes a job a little bit easier." After Georgia was held about 80 yards below its rushing average in the double-overtime loss to South Carolina, Swift called for more creative calls. He then averaged 8.5 yards on 21 carries. The win sets the stage for a top-10 SEC East showdown against Florida in two weeks. - Georgia/AP College Football

Coach Kirby Smart thinks his third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs showed him a glimpse of just how good they might be this season in a rare season opener inside the Southeastern Conference on the road. And Smart also sees plenty of room for improvement. Jake Fromm threw for 156 yards and a touchdown, and third-ranked Georgia routed Vanderbilt 30-6 Saturday night. The Bulldogs won their 20th opener in 23 seasons and stayed perfect to kick off coach Kirby Smart's fourth season. They also easily won their 14th straight against the SEC's Eastern Division in their first league game to open a season since 1995.

It sure didn't feel like a road trip with fans taking advantage of a holiday weekend to paint the stadium Georgia red. The Bulldogs rewarded them by scoring a touchdown on their first three possessions, giving the fans plenty to start celebrating early. "I think it's pretty obvious, it seemed like they took over a majority of that stadium," Smart said. "It sure felt like a home game with the people there, the fourth-quarter lights. Pretty special. I think they travel well, and I think Nashville's a great place to go and our fans all came to be a part of it." D'Andre Swift ran 16 times for 149 yards, and Brian Herrien added 65 and a TD run as the Bulldogs rolled up 326 yards rushing. Georgia finished with a 481-225 edge in total offense, and the Bulldogs also had two sacks and recovered a fumble. - AP College Football
