NOV 23 SEC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Grant McKinniss, P, Missouri,...Punted seven times for 305 yards, averaging 43.6 yards per kick with a long of 51, pinning South Carolina inside its own 20 five times, twice at the 1-yard-line including SC's final drive as it attempted to tie the game with 2:37 remaining...South Carolina's average starting LoS was the 14.5-yard line and on drives that started following a Mizzou punt, the average LoS start was the 12...SC had just one punt-return yard as McKinniss' net average was 43.4 for the game...For perspective, that 43.4 net average would be ninth nationally spread out over this season...In a game that was decided largely on field position, McKinniss was one of the heroes of the game of Mizzou. - SEC Football

Missouri is adding a leg to its special teams unit from the SEC East Division. Grant McKinniss, a kicker and punter from Kentucky, will transfer to Mizzou for his final year of eligibility, he announced Friday on Twitter. McKinniss, from Findlay, Ohio, handled kickoffs for Kentucky each of the last two years and was the team's punter as a freshman in 2016 and averaged 39.2 yards per punt. The next year the Wildcats added All-American punter Max Duffy. McKinnis entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier this month. As UK's kickoff specialist last year, McKinniss ranked seventh in the SEC in touchback percentage at 62.9 percent. Mizzou's Tucker McCann led the league at 64.6 percent. McCann, a senior last season, handled punts, field goals/PATs and kickoffs last season. The Tigers signed high school recruit Harrison Mevis to push for the kicker job in 2020. - Post-Dispatch

Kentucky football kickoff specialist Grant Mckinniss is planning to transfer out of the program A UK spokeswoman confirmed the news first reported by Rivals.com Friday. McKinniss arrived at UK ranked as the No. 4 punter in the high school class of 2016, according to Scout.com, but he only started at punter for one season. As a freshman, he averaged 39.2 yards per punt. He lost the starting punting job before the 2017 season to Australian Matt Panton, a graduate transfer and ended up redshirting.

Panton's success led UK to recruit former professional Australian Rules Football Player Max Duffy, who has held down the starting punting job the last two seasons and won the Ray Guy Award as college football's best punter in 2019. Duffy has one season of eligibility remaining. With Duffy entrenched at punter, McKinniss used his leg strength as the Wildcats' kickoff specialist the last two seasons, recording touchbacks on 61.7% of his kickoffs in 2019. McKinniss completed his undergraduate degree in December and would be eligible to play immediately at another FBS program as a graduate transfer. - Courier Journal
