Cameron Dantzler has played his last game in maroon and white. The Mississippi State junior cornerback announced on Twitter on Friday afternoon that he will declare for the 2020 NFL Draft. Dantzler will not play in the team's upcoming bowl game. Dantzler thanked God for the opportunity to play at MSU, and he thanked the university, the coaching staff and his teammates for making his collegiate career successful. "After praying over it and discussing with my family, I have decided to pursue my dream of playing in the NFL," Dantzler said in the Tweet.

Danztler has five interceptions as a Bulldog, including two this season despite missing three games due to injury. He has compiled 108 total tackles and 20 passes defended in his career. Dantzler's departure means younger players will be in line for larger roles next year at cornerback. Jarrian Jones and Martin Emerson Jr. have shown flashes of promise as true freshmen. - The Clarion Ledger
