  2019 ALL-MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM (COACHES): Tight End - Giovanni Ricci, Western Michigan,...Ricci, a product of Loveland, Ohio, has caught 47 passes for 622 yards (13.23 ypc) and eight touchdowns. A John Mackey Award semifinalist, Ricci stands third nationally among tight ends with his eight scoring grabs while ranking seventh among all players in the MAC with 29 receptions resulting in first downs. Ricci is also tied for third in the league with 16 catches on third down. He will join Juriga at the East-West Shrine Bowl in January. - Western Michigan Football

The trio has provided plenty of space for Bellamy's robust year and has given Wassink time and protection to rank 28th nationally in passing yards (2,904) and 33rd in passing yards per completion (13.08). Juriga, an Aurora, Ill., product, has accepted his invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl.   2019 ALL-MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM (COACHES): Down Lineman - Ali Fayad, Western Michigan,...Fayad capped the regular season with a breakout performance at Northern Illinois to increase his campaign totals to 49 tackles, 14.0 TFL, 6.5 sacks, four caused fumbles, one fumble recovery, one pass breakup and seven quarterback pressures. Against the Huskies, Fayad finished with 4.5 TFL, the most by a Bronco since Nowak's 5.0 versus Akron on November 25, 2011. A product of Dearborn, Mich., Fayad stands second in the league in TFL and sixth in sacks. His four forced fumbles are tied for third nationally. - Western Michigan Football

  2019 ALL-MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM (COACHES): Inside Linebacker - Drake Spears, Western Michigan,...Spears and Treshaun Hayward have combined to form one of the best linebacking duos in the MAC with Spears contributing 88 tackles, 2.5 tackles for lost yardage, 0.5 sacks, two pass breakups, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and a trio of quarterback pressures. Against Miami (Ohio), Spears flipped the game with a 74-yard interception for a touchdown that turned a 6-0 deficit into a 7-6 lead in the second quarter. Following the performance, he was tabbed the MAC West Division Defensive Player of the Week.   2019 MAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR (COACHES): RB LeVante Bellamy, Western Michigan,...Bellamy, a native of Indianapolis, Ind., leads the nation with 23 rushing touchdowns and ranks eighth in the nation with 1,412 yards rushing this season. Bellamy's 23 rushing touchdowns this season rank tied for fourth best in MAC single-season history. Bellamy had 248 carries this year and averaged 5.7 yards per carry and 117.7 yards per game. Bellamy was tied for second in the nation with 138 points this season for an average of 11.5 points per game.   A total of 24 repeat selections from last year's All-MAC teams highlight the 2019 postseason football awards in the Mid-American Conference as Central Michigan, Miami, Western Michigan and Kent State swept the annual awards. Western Michigan senior running back LeVante Bellamy was tabbed as the winner of the 38th Vern Smith Leadership Award as the top player in the MAC and was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year. Central Michigan Head Coach Jim McElwain was selected as the MAC Head Coach of the Year, while Miami quarterback Brett Gabbert was named MAC Freshman of the Year.   2019 WUERFFEL TROPHY FINALIST: Jon Wassink, Western Michigan,...Wassink, a native of Grand Rapids, Mich., has received numerous accolades this fall, including being named one of 12 recipients of the 2019 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Award, presented by Fidelity Investments. The honor makes him a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy Presented by Mazda. Wassink has also been tabbed one of 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award and has received a Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week award.

On the field this fall, Wassink has completed 205 of 338 passes for 2,719 yards and 19 touchdowns against seven interceptions. In the latest NCAA rankings, Wassink stands 24th in total passing yards, 29th in yards per completion (13.3), 30th in passing yards per game (247.2), 31st in total offensive yards per game (271.5), 34th in passing touchdowns and 37th in passing yards per attempt (8.0). - Western Michigan Football

  LeVante Bellamy, the nation's leader in rushing touchdowns, scored on a 4-yard run in overtime to give Western Michigan a 37-34 victory over Ohio on Tuesday night. Louie Zervos kicked a 37-yard field goal for Ohio (4-6, 3-3 Mid-American Conference) on the first possession in overtime before Bellamy rushed three times to cover the 25 yards and get the win. Bellamy had scored two rushing touchdowns in each of the four previous games but didn't have a score in this one until his overtime winner. He has 21 touchdowns this season.

Ohio's Tyler Tupa caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Nathan Rourke with nine seconds left to send the game into overtime. Jon Wassink threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns for the Broncos (7-4, 5-2), who got their first road win since Oct. 20, 2018 and took a half-game lead over Central Michigan (4-2) in the MAC's West division. Skyy Moore had four catches for 162 yards including a 61-yard score and ran 2 yards out of the wildcat for another touchdown.   NOV 11 MAC WEST DIVISION OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Western Michigan RB LeVante Bellamy,...Western Michigan senior running back LeVante Bellamy (Indianapolis, Ind.) ran for the game-winning touchdown with 1:05 remaining in a 35-31 victory over Ball State on Nov. 5. Bellamy rushed for 157 yards on 31 carries and three touchdowns, including one-yard, 16-yard and nine-yard scores, giving him 20 rushing touchdowns this season, a single-season career-high and currently the most in the nation (as of Nov. 8). Both of Bellamy's touchdowns in the fourth quarter regained the lead for Western Michigan. Bellamy has topped the 100-yard plateau 16 times in his career and seven times this season. - MAC Football

  LeVante Bellamy ran for 157 yards and three TDs and Western Michigan became bowl eligible for a school-record sixth straight year with a 35-31 win over Ball State on Tuesday night. Bellamy has an FBS-best 20 TD runs this season, and the Broncos (6-4, 4-2) moved into a first-place tie with Central Michigan in the Mid-American Conference West Division. Western Michigan's Jon Wassink passed for 124 yards and ran six times for 131 yards, including a 60-yard carry, a 46-yard TD and a 13-yarder for a first down to clinch the victory in the final minute.

The fourth quarter had four lead changes. The Cardinals (4-5, 3-2) took a 24-21 lead on Drew Plitt's 1-yard TD run and went in front again on Walter Fletcher's 4-yard run that made it 31-28. Bellamy had a 16-yard run to give the Broncos a 28-24 lead and a 9-yard run to cap the scoring with 1:05 left.   OCT 28/WEEK 9 MAC WEST DIVISION OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Western Michigan RB LeVante Bellamy,...Western Michigan senior running back LeVante Bellamy (Indianapolis, Ind.) rushed for a career-high four touchdowns and 178 yards rushing in a 49-10 win over Bowling Green. Bellamy became the first Bronco with four rushing touchdowns since Jamauri Bogan vs. Bowling Green on Oct. 13, 2018. Bellamy rushed for nine-yard, 36-yard, 75-yard and 18-yard touchdowns. He has scored two or more touchdowns in five of nine games this year, including each of the last three contests. Bellamy has 15 career 100-yard rushing games, including six this season. His 178 yards are the second most in a game in his career, trailing only 213 against Ball State on November 13, 2018. - MAC Football
