  2020 NFL COMBINE INVITE: LeVante Bellamy, RB, Western Michigan,...Bellamy, a 5-9, 190-pound Indianapolis product, was named a 2019 Doak Walker Award semifinalist and the Mid-American Conference Vern Smith Leadership Award winner as the league MVP. The Doak Walker Award is presented annually to the top running back in the nation. Bellamy was also tabbed the MAC Offensive Player of the Year and first team all-league last season.

In 2019, Bellamy carried 266 times for 1,472 yards (5.53 yards/carry) and 23 touchdowns. He added 15 receptions for 55 yards. Bellamy's 23 rushing TDs tied for fourth most in MAC single-season history and led the country. He ended the campaign standing third nationally in points scored per game (10.6), fifth in total points scored (138), ninth in rushing yards per game (113.2) and 10th in total rushing yards. On the WMU career charts, Bellamy finished fourth in rushing yards with 3,720 and eighth in carries with 617.   A total of 24 repeat selections from last year's All-MAC teams highlight the 2019 postseason football awards in the Mid-American Conference as Central Michigan, Miami, Western Michigan and Kent State swept the annual awards. Western Michigan senior running back LeVante Bellamy was tabbed as the winner of the 38th Vern Smith Leadership Award as the top player in the MAC and was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year. Central Michigan Head Coach Jim McElwain was selected as the MAC Head Coach of the Year, while Miami quarterback Brett Gabbert was named MAC Freshman of the Year.   LeVante Bellamy, the nation's leader in rushing touchdowns, scored on a 4-yard run in overtime to give Western Michigan a 37-34 victory over Ohio on Tuesday night. Louie Zervos kicked a 37-yard field goal for Ohio (4-6, 3-3 Mid-American Conference) on the first possession in overtime before Bellamy rushed three times to cover the 25 yards and get the win. Bellamy had scored two rushing touchdowns in each of the four previous games but didn't have a score in this one until his overtime winner. He has 21 touchdowns this season.

Ohio's Tyler Tupa caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Nathan Rourke with nine seconds left to send the game into overtime. Jon Wassink threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns for the Broncos (7-4, 5-2), who got their first road win since Oct. 20, 2018 and took a half-game lead over Central Michigan (4-2) in the MAC's West division. Skyy Moore had four catches for 162 yards including a 61-yard score and ran 2 yards out of the wildcat for another touchdown.   NOV 11 MAC WEST DIVISION OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Western Michigan RB LeVante Bellamy,...Western Michigan senior running back LeVante Bellamy (Indianapolis, Ind.) ran for the game-winning touchdown with 1:05 remaining in a 35-31 victory over Ball State on Nov. 5. Bellamy rushed for 157 yards on 31 carries and three touchdowns, including one-yard, 16-yard and nine-yard scores, giving him 20 rushing touchdowns this season, a single-season career-high and currently the most in the nation (as of Nov. 8).   LeVante Bellamy ran for 157 yards and three TDs and Western Michigan became bowl eligible for a school-record sixth straight year with a 35-31 win over Ball State on Tuesday night. Bellamy has an FBS-best 20 TD runs this season, and the Broncos (6-4, 4-2) moved into a first-place tie with Central Michigan in the Mid-American Conference West Division. Western Michigan's Jon Wassink passed for 124 yards and ran six times for 131 yards, including a 60-yard carry, a 46-yard TD and a 13-yarder for a first down to clinch the victory in the final minute.

The fourth quarter had four lead changes. The Cardinals (4-5, 3-2) took a 24-21 lead on Drew Plitt's 1-yard TD run and went in front again on Walter Fletcher's 4-yard run that made it 31-28. Bellamy had a 16-yard run to give the Broncos a 28-24 lead and a 9-yard run to cap the scoring with 1:05 left. Bellamy became the first Bronco with four rushing touchdowns since Jamauri Bogan vs. Bowling Green on Oct. 13, 2018. Bellamy rushed for nine-yard, 36-yard, 75-yard and 18-yard touchdowns. He has scored two or more touchdowns in five of nine games this year, including each of the last three contests. Bellamy has 15 career 100-yard rushing games, including six this season.   Levante Bellamy rushed for 178 yards and a career-high four touchdowns - including one that covered 75 yards - as Western Michigan remained unbeaten at home with a 49-10 defeat of Bowling Green on Saturday. Less than a minute into the second half, Bellamy took a handoff and started right, cut back left through a huge gap on the left side of the line, and in a matter of steps was past the secondary and sprinting 75 yards untouched down the sideline to make it 28-3 for the Broncos (5-4, 3-2 Mid-American Conference). The run was his longest, and the longest by a Bronco since Jamauri Bogan's 76-yarder in 2015. Bowling Green (2-6, 1-3) had taken a 3-0 lead on a Nate Needham 31-yard field goal but Bellamy erased that in the first minute of the second quarter with a TD run from the 9. Bowling Green's Grant Loy was 18-of-26 passing for 136 yards but threw two interceptions. The Falcons were outgained 574-266 in total yardage.
