No. 25 Tulsa is ranked in The Associated Press college football poll for the first time in 10 years and No. 9 Indiana is set to play the first top-10 matchup in program history. The AP Top 25 was mostly stagnant Sunday after four of the top five teams did not play and only one ranked team lost this weekend. Alabama is No. 1 for the second straight week, with 60 first-place votes. No. 2 Notre Dame received one first-place vote and No. 3 Ohio State got the other. The rest of the top eight was unchanged: Clemson is No. 4, followed by Texas A&M, Florida, Cincinnati and BYU. Indiana moved up one spot to ninth - the Hoosiers' best ranking since they were fourth in the 1967 poll - heading into a matchup with Ohio State on Saturday. Tulsa moved into the rankings after beating American Athletic Conference rival SMU, knocking the Mustangs from the Top 25. - AP College Football

  11/15/20 - Sean McGrewrSr/2022, Washington, 5-07, 176 (DS#84 RB) + More +

Sean McGrew rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown, Dylan Morris added a 1-yard TD plunge, and Washington opened the Jimmy Lake era as head coach with a 27-21 win over Oregon State on Saturday night. McGrew was part of a multifaceted rushing attack by Washington (1-0 Pac-12) that rolled up 267 yards rushing. McGrew had just nine carries and scored on a 21-yard run. Kamari Pleasant added 61 yards and a 15-yard TD. Richard Newton ran for 15 carries for 41 yards.

Lake won his debut taking over for Chris Petersen, who stepped away from coaching after last season. The debut was delayed after last week’s game at California was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns with the Golden Bears. Peyton Henry kicked a 23-yard field goal with 1:45 left, the only points scored in the second half by either team. Jermar Jefferson rushed for 133 yards and a TD for Oregon State, his 12th career 100-yard rushing game. - AP College Football

  11/07/20 - Will RogersrSr/2025, Washington, 6-2, 207 (DS#17 QB) + More +

First-year Mississippi State coach Mike Leach says he tried to inspire his team this week by showing them footage of Hall-of-Fame NFL safety Ed Reed. On some level it must've worked, especially on defense. While quarterback Will Rogers threw for only 226 yards and a touchdown and the Air Raid offense struggled, the Mississippi State defense combined for five turnovers and the team narrowly eked out a 24-17 victory over visiting Vanderbilt on Saturday. "I'm going to give Ed Reed a game ball. I don't know where he is, but I'll figure that out," Leach said. "We need more guys who can play at the intensity and work level of guys like Ed Reed, Jerry Rice. I don't know that we can ever match their work level, but it's a learned skill and it's something we need to work on."

Mississippi State (2-4, 2-4 Southeastern Conference) finally won its first home game under Leach after losing their first two attempts to Arkansas and Texas A&M last month. Vanderbilt (0-5, 0-5) had 478 yards of total offense, more than twice Mississippi State's total, but ultimately couldn't overcome its turnover woes. Due to a crippling mix of COVID-19 infections, injuries and suspensions, the Commodores dressed only 58 scholarship players for the game. The SEC minimum is 53. - AP College Football

  11/07/20 - Michael Penix Jr.rSr/2024, Washington, 6-2, 216 (DS#5 QB) + More +

Michael Penix Jr. passed for 342 yards and three touchdowns, and No. 13 Indiana beat No. 23 Michigan 38-21 on Saturday for its first victory against the Wolverines in 33 years. With a chunk play here, a free play there and a few dinks and dunks thrown in to keep drives alive, Penix helped Indiana snap a 24-game losing streak in the series - tied for the longest active skid in the Football Bowl Subdivision. It was the Hoosiers' first win against the Wolverines since Oct. 24, 1987, just their second in 41 games and only the second in the 21 games played at Memorial Stadium. The Wolverines (1-2) still don't have a top-15 road win since beating Notre Dame in 2006. The loss to Indiana could turn up the pressure on coach Jim Harbaugh in his sixth season at Michigan. - AP College Football
