Defensive back Obi Eboh became the latest UCLA graduate transfer to decide he had a few miles left on his college football odometer, announcing Wednesday that he would return for the 2021 season. Former Corona del Mar High quarterback Ethan Garbers tweeted that he will transfer to UCLA. He entered the transfer portal last week after spending one season with the Washington Huskies. He did not play in any games. Garbers led Corona del Mar to a perfect 16-0 season in 2019, capturing the Division 1A CIF State championship and the CIF-SS Division 3 title. Grad transfers Paul Grattan (Villanova) and Brittain Brown (Duke) will be back with the Bruins' offense for 2021. Brown is expected to be the starting running back after senior Demetric Felton announced he will forgo his extra year of eligibility to enter the 2021 NFL draft. Brown, who spent four years at Duke, rushed for 219 yards in the season finale and finished the season with 543 yards (6.6 yards per carry) and four touchdowns. Next season, the Washington Huskies will see Ethan Garbers on the opposite sideline. Garbers - a 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback, who officially entered the transfer portal last week - has committed to UCLA, he announced on social media on Tuesday. UW is scheduled to host UCLA inside Husky Stadium in 2021. The Newport Beach, Calif., product signed with Washington barely a year ago and competed for the Huskies' quarterback job last offseason, but did not participate in any of the team's four games after redshirt freshman Dylan Morris assumed the starting spot. The graduate transfer nickelback known for encouraging teammates and coaches alike will capitalize on NCAA rules granting all players an additional season of eligibility, allowing the Bruins to keep one of their most disruptive defensive players. After redshirt sophomore Jacob Sirmon transferred to Central Michigan and graduate student Kevin Thomson announced he'll pursue a professional future this month, true freshman Ethan Garbers officially entered the transfer portal on Thursday. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound signal caller confirmed that news to The Times but declined to comment further. Garbers - a Newport Beach, Calif. native - did not play in Washington's four games this fall after signing with the Huskies in Dec. 2019.
