Former Warren Easton four-star running back Ashaad Clayton is returning to New Orleans, choosing Tulane on Tuesday after two seasons at Colorado in a huge coup for the Green Wave. Clayton, the Buffaloes' highest-rated signee in more than 10 years, tweeted his decision two weeks after entering the transfer portal. He carried only 27 times for 115 yards in 2020 and 2021, missing the final eight games this season with an unspecified injury while preserving his redshirt status. He has four years of eligibility left. His time in Colorado was a dramatic departure from the way he ended his career at Warren Easton. Fully recovered from a knee injury that forced him to miss the beginning of 2019, he ran 100 times for 1,186 yards and 18 touchdowns in five playoff games before the Eagles lost 35-34 to Karr in the Class 4A state final. - New Orleans Times Picayune

Freshman Michael Pratt passed for a career-high 311 yards and three touchdowns and freshman Tyjae Spears ran for career-best 111 yards and two scores to lead Tulane past South Florida 45-17 on Saturday. South Florida (2-9, 1-6 American Athletic Conference) accounted for the first and last touchdowns of the game but in between it was all Green Wave (2-9, 1-6 American Athletic Conference). Spears knotted the score at 7 with a 69-yard TD run on Tulane's second play of the game. Pratt followed with scoring strikes to Cameron Carroll — covering 9 yards — and a 30-yarder to Tyrick James. Spears closed out the first quarter with a 6-yard TD run and Tulane led 28-7. Pratt threw a 48-yard scoring strike to Jaetavian Toles in the second quarter, Carroll ran it in from 8 yards out in third and Merek Glover kicked a 36-yard field in the fourth to cap the run for Tulane.   09/19/21 - Ty ThompsonrJr/2026, Tulane + More +

True freshman quarterback Ty Thompson wasn't fazed at all when he got the nod for Oregon's second half against Story Brook. Thompson threw two touchdown passes and the No. 4 Ducks overcame a sluggish start to beat the Seawolves 48-7 on Saturday night in a game delayed because of lightning. Starter Anthony Brown threw for a touchdown and ran for another but left the game at halftime after he was sacked twice to close out the second quarter. It didn't appear to be serious. "I thought Ty was very cool, didn't flinch at all," Oregon coach Mario Cristobal said. "I've seen sometimes that quarterbacks, you tap them on the shoulder and say ‘It's your turn' and their eyes get about yay big. Wasn't the case with him at all, there was no flinch." The Ducks, coming off their big win last weekend at Ohio State, improved to 3-0 as they head into Pac-12 play next weekend. It was Oregon's 14th straight win at Autzen Stadium, as well as its 28th nonconference victory at home. But the Ducks looked lethargic to start a game that was supposed to be an easy blowout. - Oregon/AP College Football

Freshman Justin Ibieta passed for 166 yards with two touchdowns and he ran for another to lead Tulane past Morgan State 69-20 on Saturday night. The Green Wave (1-1) rebounded from an opening week near-upset of then-No. 2 Oklahoma (40-35) by piling up 584 yards of total offense, forcing five turnovers and nine Morgan State punts. Tulane punted once during the game, which was played in Birmingham because of damage sustained to the Tulane campus during Hurricane Ida.

Starting quarterback Michael Pratt also threw for a pair of early touchdowns for Tulane. His second, a 43-yarder to Tyrick James, staked Tulane to a 38-0 lead with 10:25 left in the second quarter and Pratt went to the sidelines for the rest of the game. Twelve Tulane players combined for 294 yards rushing on 49 carries led by Iver Celestine's 77 yards. Ibieta gained 57 with a 23-yard touchdown run. Morgan State (0-2) scored just before the half on Neil Boudreau's 13-yard pass to Wesley Wolfolk. Boudreau and Wolfolk teamed up again as time expired in the third, and Boudreau added a final touchdown pass to Marcus Thomas as the game ended. Boudreau finished 17-for-26 passing for 184 yards, three TDs and two interceptions. Wolfolk had 110 yards on six catches. - Tulane/AP College Football
