McCants ran for 1,457 yards on just 164 carries and 15 touchdowns. ROLLINS AWARD) (COACHES): Ben Holmes, Tarleton State,...Holmes becomes the first player in school history to take home the LSC's top offensive honor as the senior quarterback led the LSC with 3,064 passing yards and 33 touchdowns with only three interceptions. His 33 touchdowns set a new school record for TD passes in a season and his 185.2 passing efficiency ranks No. 2 in the nation. The three-time LSC Defensive Player of the Week ranks No. 3 in the nation in tackles for loss with 24. Jefferson has also posted a team-leading 87 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 10 QB hurries, one interception, one forced fumble and one recovery this season.   2019 RMAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Tariq Bitson, ASU,...Bitson makes it two straight years a Grizzly has earned Player of the Year, previously Adams State did not have one since 2004. Bitson was a monster on the field as he hauled in a total of 11 touchdowns and averaged an incredible 144.9 yards per game which ranks first in DII and is almost 20 yards per game ahead of second. Bitson, unfortunately, got hurt in the 9th game of the season as he was on pace to break the NCAA DII yards in a single season.   Tarleton Football will enter the national playoffs as the No. 2 seed and host Lone Star Conference rival Texas A&M-Commerce. The Texans will face the Lions on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. at the Lonn Reisman Athletic Center at Memorial Stadium. The Texans were ranked No. 1 in all three NCAA Regional Rankings prior to the selection show but Minnesota State edged out Tarleton for the No. 1 seed in Super Region 4 to claim the first-round bye. Colorado School of Mines will be the No. 3 seed and take on Sioux Falls. No. 4 Colorado State-Pueblo will host Augustana to round out the NCAA Super Regional 4 playoff teams.

Tarleton, the No. 3-ranked team in the AFCA poll, just completed its second straight undefeated regular season, going 11-0 to capture back-to-back Lone Star Conference championships. This is Tarleton's fifth trip to the NCAA Playoffs and fourth under head coach Todd Whitten. Texas A&M-Commerce is 8-2 on the season and ranked No. 23 in the latest AFCA poll.   SEPT 30 RMAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tariq Bitson of Adams State has been named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week. Tariq has had nothing short of a sensational season thus far in 2019. The junior transfer put on what has been his best game this last Saturday, having hauled in 12 receptions for 257 yards and 4 touchdowns, including the game winner with 38 seconds left against Western. - Rocky Mountain Football

  NOV 4 LONE STAR DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Prince Robinson, Tarleton State, SR, Kinesiology, CB, Houston, Texas, North Forest HS,...Robinson cut loose for the Texans on senior day in Stephenville as the corner back from Houston ended the first half and started the second half with interception returns for touchdowns on back-to-back Midwestern State possessions. On the final Mustang drive of the first half, Robinson picked it off and ran it back 38 yards for the final score of the opening half.

After the Tarleton offense started the second-half scoring, Robinson struck again on the Mustang's first drive of the new half when he returned an interception 64 yards for his second touchdown of the day. Robinson totaled over 100 yards (102) in total return yards for the game. He also forced a fumble and added a pass breakup and a tackle. In the 66-7 triumph, Robinson had a hand in three of Tarleton's six turnovers. - Lone Star Football

  OCT 28 LONE STAR OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Daniel McCants, Tarleton State, SR, Kinesiology, RB, Killeen, Texas, Killeen HS,...McCants was on fire Saturday night as he led the No. 4 Texans to their eighth straight win. McCants, a senior running back from Killeen, became the seventh player (13th time) in program history to rush for over 200 yards in a single game and just the third player (fourth time) in program history to reach the 250-yard plateau in a single game.

He joins only Derrick Ross (269; 260) and Jerome Regal (251) with performances of at least 250 yards, in which he had only 15 carries for the game. He also found the end zone four times, which is also a career high for him. He became the eighth player in school history to have four non-passing scores in a single contest and the first since Xavier Turner did it against Kingsville on Oct. 20, 2018. His 250 yards rushing, four rushing touchdowns, and 24 points scored are all highs by any Lone Star Conference player this season. - Lone Star Conference Football
