  OCT 7 SOUTHLAND FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chase Fourcade, Nicholls, Sr., Quarterback, Metairie, La.,...Fourcade was 24-of-29 for 327 yards and a touchdown through the air and rushed for 48 yards and another score on 11 carries in the 34-14 win over the Bears, snapping an eight-game losing streak in the series. With 375 total offensive yards, he passed Texas State's Bradley George for seventh on the conference's career total offense list and moved to within 26 of former Sam Houston State quarterback Brian Bell at No. 6.   Lowell Narcisse ran for 115 yards and accounted for two touchdowns to lead UTSA to a 26-16 victory over UTEP on Saturday night. Freshman Sincere McCormick ran for 189 yards and broke loose for a 51-yard touchdown run with four minutes to play for UTSA (2-3, 1-1 Conference USA). UTEP (1-4, 0-2) is 0-4 at home against the Roadrunners. Narcisse was 6-of-14 passing for 46 yards and had 19 carries. Narcisse ran for a 9-yard touchdown in the first quarter, and his 18-yard touchdown pass to Blaze Moorhead stretched the Roadrunners' lead to 16-3 early in the third. Treyvon Hughes had an 8-yard touchdown run and Gavin Baechle kicked a 37-yard field goal for UTEP. Brandon Jones tossed a 2-yard touchdown to Tre'Shon Wolf in the final minute.   Chase Fourcade and Julien Gums each accounted for a pair of touchdowns to help Nicholls cruise to a 34-14 victory over Central Arkansas on Saturday. Nicholls (3-2, 2-0 Southland Conference) snapped an eight-game losing streak to Central Arkansas (3-2, 1-1). Fourcade was 24-of-29 passing for 327 yards and a touchdown, and scored on a 1-yard run that capped a nine-play drive on the Colonels' opening series. Fourcade is now the seventh player in the Southland Conference to reach 10,000 career yards of total offense.

Gums ran for 8-yard and 36-yard touchdowns in the second quarter that made it 20-0 at halftime. Fourcade's 26-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Talley stretched the lead to 27-7. Kendall Bussey added an 8-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. Breylin Smith tossed a 4-yard touchdown pass to Lujuan Winningham for Central Arkansas.   Chase Fourcade threw two touchdown passes and ran for two scores to guide Nicholls to a 42-35 victory over Prairie View A&M on Saturday. Fourcade completed 17 of 22 passes for 224 yards for the Colonels (1-1), ranked 11th in the FCS coaches' poll, and added 35 yards rushing on 12 carries. Nicholls took the lead midway through the first quarter on Dion Ray's 15-yard TD run, but Gavin Lasseigne missed the extra point and the lead stood at 6-0 at quarter's end. The second quarter was dominated by the Panthers (1-2), who used Jalen Morton's 23-yard scoring run and two Morton TD throws - 16 yards to Tony Mullins and a 39-yarder to Kalen Riles for a 21-6 halftime lead.

But the Colonels took control of the game with a 29-point third quarter. Fourcade opened the scoring with a 5-yard TD run. Fourcade then connected with Dal'Jean Dixon for a 14-yard score before added a 3-yard TD run to put Nicholls on top 28-21. On the ensuing possession for the Panthers, Morton fumbled on first down and Allen Pittman recovered the ball for Nicholls at the Prairie View 36-yard line. On the next play Fourcade connected with Dixon for a 36-yard score and a 35-21 lead after three quarters. - AP College Football
