  12/12/20 - Mohamed IbrahimrSr/2023, Minnesota, 5-08, 203 (DS#22 RB) + More +

Mohamed Ibrahim ran for two touchdowns following Nebraska turnovers, and a Minnesota team missing nearly three dozen players to COVID-19 protocols or injuries left Memorial Stadium with a stunning 24-17 win on Saturday after being idle three weeks. Ibrahim scored on fourth-and-goal from the 1 to give Minnesota a 10-point lead early in the fourth quarter after Adrian Martinez fumbled at the Nebraska 39. Connor Culp's 30-yard field goal cut it to 24-17 with 4:42 left. The Gophers then called on Ibrahim to finish off the game, having him carry six straight times for 59 yards before they went into victory formation at the Nebraska 6. The Gophers (3-3, 3-3 Big Ten) had their last two games canceled because of a COVID-19 outbreak on the team, and most of their missing 33 players were in the conference's 21-day return to play protocol. It also was Minnesota's first game without star wide receiver Rashod Bateman, who opted out Nov. 25. Nebraska (2-5, 2-5), which beat Purdue on the road last week, hasn't won back-to-back Big Ten games since 2018. Ibrahim finished with 108 yards on 20 carries and Tanner Morgan was 17 of 30 for 181 yards. - Minnesota/AP College Football

2020 DOAK WALKER AWARD SEMIFINALIST: Mo Ibrahim (Jr.), Minnesota,...Ibrahim is averaging 163.4 rushing yards per game, which ranks first in the nation for anyone who has played in at least five games. He ranks 17th in the nation in rushing yards (817) despite playing in only five games. Everyone above him (except Buffalo's Jaret Patterson) has played in at least eight games. Ibrahim ranks tied for sixth nationally in rushing touchdowns with 13. Despite playing in only five games, Mohamed Ibrahim leads the Big Ten in rushing attempts (155), rushing yards (817), rushing touchdowns (13) and scoring (78).   12/06/20 - Jack GibbensrSr/2022, Minnesota, 6-3, 242 (DS#43 ILB) + More +

The Gophers will gain some much-needed experience at linebacker in 2021. Jack Gibbens, a Bulverde, Texas, native, recently completed his senior season at FCS program Abilene Christian and entered the NCAA transfer portal back on Nov. 24. His former team went 1-5 this season with two canceled games. Gibbens, 6-4, 240 pounds, led Abilene Christian with 49 tackles, including 4.5 for a loss and two sacks in 2020. He also made an interception, forced two fumbles, recovered a fumble and made two quarterback pressures. Gibbens has played in nearly every game through his four-year career, including all 12 last season when he made 104 tackles. With the NCAA granting all athletes an extra year of eligibility because of COVID-19, Gibbens should be a scholarship grad transfer with plans to join the Gophers in January. He could help a young Gophers' defense that has struggled this year, averaging more than 456 allowed offensive yards per game. - Minneapolis Star Tribune
