  2019 PRESEASON LOU GROZA AWARD WATCH LIST: Blake Lynch, Kansas State,...It marks the 11th time in school history a Wildcat has been up for the award, including the fourth time in the last six seasons. Most notably, Martin Gramatica won the award in 1997, while Joe Rheem (2004), Anthony Cantele (2012) and Matthew McCrane (2017) were semifinalists.

A native of Goddard, Kansas, Lynch connected on 14-of-16 field goals and 19-of-20 extra-point attempts last season. He led the Big 12 and ranked 14th nationally in field goals per game (1.56), while his percentage mark of 87.5 was third in the conference, 12th nationally and third in K-State history. - Kansas State Football

  2019 PRESEASON BRONKO NAGURSKI TROPHY WATCH LIST: DE Wyatt Hubert, Kansas State,...A native of Topeka, Kansas, Hubert played in all 12 games as a freshman in 2018 with seven starts. He totaled 34 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks to go along with a pass breakup and an interception against No. 18 Mississippi State. Hubert led all Big 12 freshman in TFLs per game (0.71), while he was second among freshmen in sacks per game (0.38), the latter ranking third in that nation. Hubert's best game of the year came in K-State's 21-6 victory over Texas Tech when he posted seasons highs in tackles (5), sacks (2.0) and TFLs (2.0). - Kansas State Football

  2019 PRESEASON RAY GUY AWARD WATCH LIST: Devin Anctil, Kansas State,...A 2018 Honorable Mention All-Big 12 selection, Anctil punted 27 times last year for a 43.6-yard average with six punts of 50 or more yards and 10 landing inside the opponent's 20-yard line. His season averaged ranked sixth in school history and would have ranked first in the Big 12 and 25th nationally if he played in the required minimum amount of games.

Anctil, a product of Lenexa, Kansas, had a great outing at Oklahoma, setting career highs for punts (7), average (46.9), long punt (65), punts of 50-plus yards (3) and punts landing inside the 20-yard line (5). His 65-yarder against the Sooners was tied for the second-longest punt in the Big 12 during the 2018 season and was the longest by a Wildcat since 2013. - Kansas State Football

The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder set 11 school records after becoming the first true freshman quarterback to start an opener in school history. Martinez completed 224-of-347 passes for 2,617 yards and 17 touchdowns last season, while also rushing for 629 yards and eight TDs on his way to All-Big Ten accolades.

Last season, Martinez ranked 12th nationally and led all freshmen nationally in total offense per game (295.1 ypg, a Nebraska record) while also setting school marks for 300-yard total offense (seven) and 400-yard total offense (three) games. He set freshman records for completions, completion percentage, passing yards, passing touchdowns, total offense and total touchdowns (25) and ranked fourth nationally among all freshmen with 237.9 passing yards per game. - Nebraska Football

  2019 PRESEASON MAXWELL AWARD CANDIDATE: RB James Gilbert, Kansas State,...Gilbert, a graduate transfer from Ball State, is a preseason candidate for the award for a third-straight season. He is the eighth Wildcat to be named a candidate for the award and the second-straight running back after Alex Barnes landed on the watch list prior to the 2018 campaign.

A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Gilbert transferred to K-State after playing parts of four seasons at Ball State, including three games in 2017 when he earned a medical hardship. He totaled 2,806 career rushing yards to rank seventh in Ball State history, while he had 30 rushing touchdowns to tie for fifth.

Gilbert broke out as a sophomore in 2016, as he led the Mid-American Conference with 12 rushing touchdowns in addition to piling up 1,332 rushing yards to rank fourth in Cardinal history. Gilbert also earned First Team All-MAC honors that season. - Kansas State Football
