2019 ALL-SIAC FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM (COACHES): Quarterback Slade Jarman, Fort Valley State, Senior,...The SIAC's top passing offense was led by Jarman, which the senior quarterback received the top honors of Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and All-SIAC First Team. The three-time SIAC Offensive Player of the Week and once named the BOXTOROW National Player of the Week ranked within NCAA Division II's Top 15 in eight different offensive categories when he unfortunately suffered a season-ending injury in the start of the third quarter of week eight's game. Jarman led the SIAC in passing yards per game (262.2 yds/gm) and set his personal best numbers of 174 completions in 281 attempts for 2,099 yards with 18 touchdowns to five interceptions for a 61.9-percent and a 142.25 pass efficiency rating.

The Pensacola, Fla., native also rushed 123 yards on 74 carries with six touchdowns. As part of his game performances, Jarman went 25 of 43 for 391 yards and six scores against Benedict College, 33 of 48 for 386 yards and four touchdowns and five carries for 30 yards and a score at Central State, 22 of 38 for 254 yards and a touchdown and 13 rushes for 45 yards and three scores at Florida Tech. The 2017 All-SIAC Second Team and Newcomer of the Year was a perfect 12 for 12 for 220 yards and a 59-yard touchdown pass in what was his final game at Clark Atlanta. - Fort Valley State Football

The 2019 Preseason All-SIAC and 2018 All-SIAC Second Team defensive back led the Wildcats secondary with 61 tackles, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble, a fumble recovery and three pass breakups. The junior was 15th in the SIAC at 6.1 tackles per contest and had six or more tackles in six games. 2019 ALL-SIAC FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM (COACHES): Defensive Lineman Jahseari Patterson, Fort Valley State, Junior,...Manning the other side of the defensive line, the bookend Patterson recorded a true breakout campaign. The junior was one of the top SIAC defensive ends where he recorded 48 tackles, 23 solo, to go with 15 tackles for loss of 81 yards, 6.5 sacks of 52 yards, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Among the league leaders, Patterson rated third in sacks (0.65 per game), fourth in tackles for loss (1.50 per game), second in forced fumbles (0.40 per game) and 30th in tackles (4.8 per contest).

He had six games with five-plus tackles and eight outings with at least one tackle for loss. The third-year Wildcat recorded his two biggest games against Benedict (7 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble) and Morehouse College (9 tackles, five tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery). The 6-4 wide out ranked second in the SIAC at 5.1 receptions per game and third in receiving yards per game (76.5 yds/gm). Shemar pulled in seven passes for 129 yards at Savannah State and seven more passes for 74 yards and a touchdown against SIAC Champion Miles College. QA had his top yardage game with 121 yards on only four catches, including a 59-yard touchdown, at Clark Atlanta. The Decatur, Ga. native led Division II in sacks and ranked at No. 8 in tackles for loss. The junior wide receiver had receptions of 17 and 23 yards on an opening drive which produced a field goal for the Wildcats. The Florida native also had a 19-yd catch and only two plays later scored FVSU's first touchdown.
