He was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts, including a long of 39 yards, while converting both of his PATs.   WEEK 7 UNITED ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Central Arkansas Landen Chambers, a sophomore running back for UCA, finished with a career-best 184 yards on 24 carries (7.7 YPC) and scored three touchdowns in the Bears road win at UNA.   Landen Chambers ran for 184 yards and three touchdowns as Central Arkansas overwhelmed North Alabama 49–21 on Saturday in United Athletic Conference play. Chambers opened the scoring with a 1-yard plunge and added touchdown runs of 19 and 11 yards during a dominant second quarter in which the Bears (2–4, 1–1 UAC) scored 28 straight points. Austin Myers threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns, including a 76-yard strike to Tyrell Pollard and a pair of scoring passes to Malachi Henry.

Henry finished with five catches for 119 yards, and Cam Young added a 13-yard touchdown run as Central Arkansas rolled up 486 yards of offense and averaged nearly eight yards per play. The Bears led 35–14 at halftime and never looked back, scoring on six of their first eight drives. Ari Patu threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Noah Gregg and KJ Fields added a 4-yard rushing score to help the Lions (1–5, 0–2) keep pace early, but turnovers and defensive breakdowns proved costly. Destin Wade later connected with Justin Pegues for a 7-yard touchdown to close the scoring. Central Arkansas' defense intercepted two passes and held North Alabama to just 93 rushing yards on 37 carries.   WEEK 2 UNITED ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Central Arkansas' Luther Richesson, UCA's junior quarterback, accounted for four touchdowns in the Bears' home opening victory over in-state foe UAPB. He was 18-of-25 passing for 283 yards and tallied three touchdown passes.   Luther Richesson threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score as Central Arkansas breezed to a 41-17 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday night. Richesson threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Henry Malachi with 10 minutes left in the second quarter and connected with Ty Durham for a 13-yard score with 5:22 remaining to help put Central Arkansas (1-1) up 20-10 at halftime. Richesson ran it in on fourth-and-1 just 36 seconds into the fourth quarter and connected with Tyrell Pollard for a 33-yard touchdown with 10:30 left.

Landen Chambers rushed 14 times for 106 yards and scored on a 1-yard plunge to put the Bears 27-10 lead after three quarters. Jalen Washington had a 9-yard touchdown run to tie it 7-7 in the first. Richesson finished with 283 yards on 18-for-25 passing with one interception. Christian Peters completed 18 of 36 passes for 228 yards for the Golden Lions (0-2). He hit Kareem Burke for a 42-yard touchdown in the final period. Jaylen Jennings' 2-yard TD run gave UAPB a 7-0 lead. - AP College Football

  2022 ASUN CONFERENCE CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: ShunDerrick Powell, North Alabama,...The ASUN's leading rusher, Powell ranks third in FCS for rushing touchdowns (18), total touchdowns (18) and is fourth for rushing yards (1,509). He produced seven 100-yard rushing games this season, including a span of five-straight, highlighted by four games with more than 200 yards rushing. Powell recorded a school-record and career-best 251 yards against UVA Wise and twice topped the 200-yard mark in ASUN play against EKU (218) and Austin Peay (207). He is also listed top-5 in all of FCS for rushing yards per game (137.2), rushing yards per carry (6.83), all-purpose yards (172.0) and scoring (10.8). In ASUN games, he averaged 146.8 rushing yards per game, which was more than 40 yards per game greater than the second leading rusher.   2022 ASUN CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: David Walker, Central Arkansas,...Walker was a force on the defensive line for the Bears, leading the ASUN and ranking second in the FCS for sacks with 12 for a total loss of 83 yards and tackles for-loss with 22 (loss of 107 yards). He finished the season with 66 total tackles including 36 solo stops while reaching a season-high nine tackles in three contests. Walker had at least one TFL in 10 of 11 games headlined by a season-best four TFLs against Missouri State and a UCA school record matching 3.5 sack effort in a road victory at Stephen F. Austin. Against ASUN foes, his top performances included 3.5 TFLs against UNA and 3.0 TFLs versus JSU.   Kylin James ran for 155 yards, Jarrod Barnes returned a punt for a touchdown, and Central Arkansas blew past Stephen F. Austin 34-7 on Saturday. Will McElvain threw two touchdown passes and Hayden Ray kicked two field goals to give the Bears a 20-0 halftime lead. Things got explosive late in the third quarter for Central Arkansas (5-5). First, backup quarterback Clifton McDowell hit James with a 38-yard touchdown pass, then four plays later Barnes returned a punt 67 yards for a touchdown and a 34-0 lead.

The Lumberjacks (5-5) finally got on the board with a 13-yard scoring pass from Brian Maurer to Griffin Edwards with 1:38 remaining. McElvain was 12-of-17 passing for 136 yards with the two first-half touchdowns. He was intercepted once. Three quarterbacks combined to go 14-of-31 passing for 73 yards for the Lumberjacks.   Darius Hale ran for 255 yards and two scores, Will McElvain accounted for three touchdowns and Central Arkansas routed North Alabama 64-21 on Saturday night. Central Arkansas (4-4, 3-0 ASUN) generated 733 yards of offense, including 456 yards on the ground on 41 carries. Hale had 19 carries with scoring runs from 6 and 64 yards. McElvain finished 15-of-24 passing for 277 yards and had a 12-yard touchdown run. Myles Butler and Jarrod Barnes each caught a touchdown pass from McElvain and combined for eight receptions for 220 yards.

Kylin James added 113 yards rushing and a 21-yard touchdown for Central Arkansas. Christian Richmond had an 82-yard kickoff return for a touchdown early in the first quarter for the Bears. Butler's 82-yard TD catch stretched the lead to 26-6 early in the second.
