  2021 ALL-BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE SECOND-TEAM (COCHES/MEDIA): DB - Darion Slade, R-Sr., Campbell,...Slade ranked 10th in the Big South in tackles per game (6.8), collecting 61 stops for the season, including 5.0 for loss with two fumble recoveries, two interceptions, a pass breakup and a defensive touchdown. The Winston-Salem, N.C. native was the only player in the Big South with at least 60 tackles, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries, despite playing in only nine games. He was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week (10/4) after recording a game-high 11 tackles in a win at North Alabama, including 1.0 stop for loss, to go along with a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown, while matching a season-high with 11 tackles against Kennesaw State, adding interceptions against Charleston Southern and Hampton on the way to his third All-Big South honor (2019 First Team, 2020 Second Team). - Campbell Football

The senior from Greensboro, N.C. set a Campbell single season record for sacks, while tying the program single season mark in stops for loss, standing as one of 10 Big South defenders with two or more forced fumbles on the year, adding 44 total tackles with a fumble recovery, a pass breakup and six hurries. The redshirt senior has started 26 consecutive games on the CU offensive line, including 10 games at right tackle in 2021. The redshirt senior from North Charleston, S.C. helped the CU offense set a school record for passing yards (2,901) and passing touchdowns (24) this season, as well as a school single season record four 300-plus yard passing games, including a single game record 424 yards in a win over Presbyterian.   2021 ALL-BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE FIRST-TEAM (COCHES/MEDIA): TE - Julian Hill, Sr., Campbell,...Hill led all Big South tight ends in receptions (34), while ranking second in receiving yards at the position with 367, standing 15th overall in the league for catches and 18th in receiving yards. The senior collected two receiving touchdowns and averaged 10.8 yards per catch, putting up career-highs in receptions, yards and TDs for the season. A Fayetteville, N.C. native, Hill recorded a career-high 89 yards on six catches with a TD in a win at Gardner-Webb, one of three games with 50 or more receiving yards.   2021 BIG SOUTH DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Brevin Allen, DL, Sr., Campbell,...Allen is a finalist for the Stats Perform FCS Buck Buchanan National Defensive Player of the Year Award, and finished the regular-season as the Big South leader in quarterback sacks with 9.5 and tackles-for-loss with 17.5. He ranks 10th nationally in TFL and 19th in sacks, and was one of 10 Big South defenders with at least two forced fumbles this season. The first Camel to be voted Big South Defensive Player of the Year, Allen set the school single-season record for sacks, and tied the program record for tackles-for-loss.

He was the Big South Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 11 after posting 3.0 TFL, 2.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, five total tackles and a pass break-up in Campbell's victory over Gardner-Webb in the East/West BBQ Bowl. Allen recorded at least 2.0 stops behind the line of scrimmage in six games - two of which were games with 3.0 TFL - and finished the year with a TFL in eight of his 11 appearances. He amassed 44 total tackles (26 solo, 18 assisted), six quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery in 2021. Allen received five first-place votes and 23 points in the voting, ahead of Kennesaw State linebacker Evan Thompson (three first-place votes and 19 points) and Charleston Southern defensive lineman Shaundre Mims (two first-place votes and 15 points). - Big South Football

  Wiley Hartley passed for 265 yards and two touchdowns, Bryant Barr rushed for 97 yards and three scores and Campbell scored 21 straight points to rally past Gardner-Webb 42-28 in Big South Conference play on Saturday. Narii Gaither's 22-yard TD run gave Gardner-Webb (2-4, 0-2) a 28-21 lead with 7:06 remaining in the third quarter. Barr pulled the Fighting Camels (3-2, 2-0) even with a 1-yard TD run, capping a 12-play, 59-yard drive with 60 seconds left in the period. The Campbell defense provided the spark for the go-ahead score.

Josh McNeely recovered a Quayvon Skanes fumble on a punt return at the Bulldogs' 11-yard line and two plays later Barr scored on an 8-yard run - giving Campbell a 35-28 lead with 3:53 left to play. The Fighting Camels wrapped up the win with C.J. Freeman's 23-yard TD run after Gardner-Webb turned the ball over on downs at its own 23-yard line. Hartley completed 26 of 41 passes with second-quarter TD throws covering 9 yards to Caleb Snead and 39 yards to Julian Hill. Snead finished with 10 receptions for 98 yards, while Hill caught six passes for 89. Bailey Fisher was 18-of-28 passing for 160 yards and a TD with one interception for Gardner-Webb.   Wiley Hartley threw three touchdown passes to lead Campbell to a 48-31 victory over North Alabama on Saturday night in the Big South Conference opener for both teams. Hartley was 18-of-31 passing for 302 yards. He threw a pair of touchdown passes to Caleb Snead, who had eight receptions for 162 yards. RJ Jackson and Jalen Kelsey also made touchdown catches for Campbell (2-2, 1-0). Bryant Barr drove into the end zone from the 1 to pull the Camels to 24-14 at halftime. Hartley threw a 52-yard touchdown pass to Snead early in the third quarter, and the duo connected on a 13-yard score early in the fourth that stretched the Camels' lead to 41-24. Rett Files was 30-of-45 passing for 367 yards and threw three touchdown passes for North Alabama (0-5, 0-1).   SEPT 20 BIG SOUTH OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Campbell quarterback Wiley Hartley (Atlanta, Ga.), making his first career start at quarterback, tossed a Big South single-game record six touchdowns along with 342 yards on 22-of-30 passing to help Campbell defeat Presbyterian, 72-0. He led Campbell to the end zone on eight of its first nine possessions and tossed TD passes on five-straight drives. Five of his touchdown throws went for at least 20 yards - including his 60-yard third quarter strike that put CU on ahead, 56-0. Hartley's six touchdown passes went to six different Camel receivers.   Wiley Hartley threw six touchdown passes, Campbell forced a program-record 10 turnovers and the Camels routed Presbyterian 72-0 on Saturday night. Hartley was 22-of-30 passing for 342 yards. Michael Jamerson opened the scoring with a pair of touchdown runs in the first quarter before Hartley threw a TD pass each to six receivers. Jamerson ran 22 times for 101 yards. Campbell (1-2) added a safety and CJ Tillman's pick-6. Tai Goode capped the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run. The Camels finished with seven interceptions and recovered three fumbles. Hartley scrambled to his right and then lofted a 28-yard pass to Austin Hite, who made a bobbling catch in the end zone as time expired in the first half, stretching the Camels' lead to 49-0. Hartley's 60-yard pass to tight end Jordan Goco to open the second half was his longest scoring throw of the game.   Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Matthew Anderson is leaving Nebraska. The Louisiana native entered the NCAA's transfer portal on Wednesday, the Journal Star confirmed. Anderson, a 6-foot-6 tackle, did not appear in a game for the Huskers in his career. He was part of a big offensive line group in NU's 2019 recruiting class.
