Missouri Football   Mmm, what might this mean for Arizona quarterback Drew Pyne, a redshirt sophomore who recently transferred from Notre Dame? ASU is favored to land former Florida quarterback signee Jaden Rashada, according to recent odds. Bookies.com has the Sun Devils at +140 to land Rashada, a 5-star QB whose father, Harlen, played at Arizona State. It gives the team a 41.67% implied probability to be the Pittsburg (Calif.) High standout's next school. TCU is second in the odds at +180 (35.71%), followed by Washington at +400 (20%) and California at +1000 (9.09%). The site lists "Other" at +2000 (4.76%) in its odds. Rashada reportedly visited Arizona State last weekend after being officially released form his letter of intent at Florida. He is scheduled to also visit TCU.

Rashada is the No. 6 QB prospect in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports. His father played at ASU between 1992 and 1994. New ASU coach Kenny Dillingham recruited Rashada when Dillingham was Oregon's offensive coordinator. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Jaden Rashada threw for 5,275 yards at Pittsburg High last season, with 59 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. He had a falling out with Florida after the Gator Collective - an independent fundraising group that is loosely tied to the university and pays student-athletes for use of their name, image and likeness - failed to honor a four-year deal worth more than $13 million. Pyne threw for 2,021 yads with 22 touchdowns for Notre Dame while compiled an 8-2 record as a starter, including a 4-1 record against top 25 teams. - CalBears.com

Kansas State Football   Dante Cephas announced Sunday that he's transferring from Kent State to Penn State. Cephas, one of the best players available in the transfer portal, could become the Nittany Lions' No. 1 wide receiver in 2023 after racking up 130 catches for 1,984 yards and 12 touchdowns the past seasons with the Golden Flashes. The former Penn Hills star is slated to finish classes at Kent State before enrolling at Penn State in the summer. Cephas will have two years of eligibility remaining. Cephas was near the top of James Franklin's portal wish list and with reason.

The Pittsburgh native has the ability to change Penn State's offensive trajectory in 2023, just as he did with Penn Hills four years ago. "They're getting the complete package in Dante," former Penn Hills coach Jon LeDonne said. "He's a big, long, athletic receiver. Very, very explosive. He's not afraid to go across the middle. He's a strong individual as well." LeDonne called Cephas "a happy guy who's always in a good mood." The coach never had any issues with him in their two seasons together, only fond memories. LeDonne, now the coach at Pine-Richland, remembers arriving at Penn Hills in June 2017. One of the first things he did was watch tape from the 2016 junior varsity team to see if he had any up-and-comers. Cephas jumped out right away. "Some of these one-handed catches he was making and going up for everything and running after the catch," LeDonne said, "we knew we had a special player." - Tribune Review

Texas Football   Texas has added another target to its passing game. Former Georgia receiver Adonai Mitchell announced Friday night that he will transfer to Texas. The Longhorns confirmed the signing later in the night. Over two years at Georgia, Mitchell won two national championships. He averaged 14.7 yards on his 38 receptions. "New home, same mission," Mitchell tweeted. This past season, Mitchell appeared in six games and scored in both of Georgia's playoff games. As a freshman, he started 12 times and caught the go-ahead touchdown against Alabama in the national championship game.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pounder was rated as a four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. After the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 29, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian opined that it "kind of felt like all year we were searching for a third wideout." That shouldn't be a problem for Texas in 2023. Mitchell joins a receiving corps that's set to retain both Xavier Worthy and Jordan Whittington, who combined for 110 receptions, 1,412 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. - Austin American Statesman

Raynor, who announced his decision on Twitter, was the starting kicker the past three seasons for the Eagles. Last season, he was 18-for-20 on field goals, 49-for-50 on extra-point attempts and led the Sun Belt in scoring with 103 points.   Tennessee Football   Tennessee gave coach Josh Heupel a big raise that puts him among the highest-paid coaches in college football after he led the Volunteers to their best season in more than 20 years. Heupel will make $9 million per year through the 2028 football season under the contract extension announced by the school Tuesday and signed Jan. 19. That's an increase from the $5 million extension signed last July that pushed his deal through 2027. Athletic director Danny White said Heupel's results speak for themselves with an 18-8 record, including 11-2 last season, capped by a win over Clemson in the Orange Bowl.

White said Heupel and his staff have energized the program and fans with his aggressive style of football. "We just needed an innovative leader like Josh Heupel to reignite the spark," White said of program that dealt with what he called a brief period of dormancy. "It’s been fun to crash the party, but as Josh said after our Orange Bowl triumph, the best is yet to come." The Vols have beaten seven Top 25 teams since Heupel was hired in January 2021, which ranks third nationally among FBS head coaches in that span. Tennessee went 3-7 in 2020 before Heupel was hired to replace Jeremy Pruitt. Tennessee finished Heupel's second season ranked sixth by The Associated Press college football poll, the Vols' highest finish since 2001. The pay increase features a $225,000 base salary with $8.725 million in supplemental pay. - AP College Football

Tennessee Football   Tennessee football quarterback Joe Milton is among the early betting favorites for the 2023 Heisman Trophy. Milton is among a group tied for the sixth-best odds at +2000 to win the trophy for the most outstanding player in college football. USC's Caleb Williams, the 2022 winner, is the betting favorite at +380 and leads a horde of Pac-12 quarterbacks near the top. Milton sits at +2000 alongside LSU QB Jayden Daniels, Notre Dame transfer QB Sam Hartman, Texas QB Quinn Ewers, Ohio State QB Kyle McCord and Clemson QB Cade Klubnik.

Milton won his two starts, at Vanderbilt and against Clemson in the Orange Bowl, in 2022 after replacing the injured Hendon Hooker. Milton earned Orange Bowl MVP honors after passing for 251 yards and three touchdowns in the win over the Tigers on Dec. 30. Milton, though, isn't the locked-in starter in 2023 just yet. 5-star freshman Nico Iamaleava enrolled early and will be competing for time in spring practice. - Knoxville News Sentinel

Georgia Football   After Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett won the Manning Award Monday he was more judicious in his remarks than after winning his second consecutive national championship game. It was a fitting honor for the Georgia sixth-year senior who won MVP awards for all four of the College Football Playoff games in which he played the last two seasons. Now in its 19th year, the Manning is the only quarterback award that takes into account candidates' bowl and playoff performances. It honors the accomplishments of Archie and his sons Peyton and Eli.

Bennett was fourth in Heisman voting and considered an NFL longshot at 5-11, 190; rated 199 overall by NFL Draft Scout, in rounds 5-6..."People are going to have their opinions," he said. "My job is to go out there and play football, to get the ball in athletes' hands and do it consistently and play hard and play to win. People can say whatever, I hear it, but I don't really let it bother me." Some think he snubbed fans in the aftermath of his last win. "It was nuts," he said. "Them hating me, me hating them, us falling in love together and coming back, playing football, I mean, it was special. I wouldn't change a single thing. I don't think I'd be here without it being that way. I just hope that everybody who was there and everybody who was with me and everybody I was with knows I appreciate the heck out of it - everything." - Frank Cooney, NFL Draft Scout

Southern Methodist Football   The SMU football program has been no stranger to the transfer portal, bolstering many positions with veteran experience throughout the offseason. After Tanner Mordecai's departure to Wisconsin, Rhett Lashlee and the Mustangs were ready to look forward to the future at quarterback. That future will include another experienced player at signal caller.

On Friday, former Iowa quarterback Alex Padilla took to Twitter to announce his transfer to SMU. In three seasons with the Big Ten program, Padilla completed 77 of 157 pass attempts for 821 yards and three touchdowns to go with four interceptions. Padilla, a Greenwood Village, Colo. native, announced his intention to transfer from Iowa on Nov. 29.   Pittsburgh Football   Just weeks after Jared Wayne, Pitt's leading receiver in 2022, declared for the 2023 NFL draft, the Panthers have already found his likely replacement in the starting lineup. After extending offers to numerous pass catchers in the transfer portal this winter, Pat Narduzzi's team landed a Power Five receiver this week, as former Florida wideout Daejon Reynolds announced his commitment to Pitt on Friday evening. Reynolds, who measures at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, comes to the Panthers with three years of eligibility remaining. A former four-star recruit out of Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., Reynolds committed to Florida over other notable programs like Texas A&M, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida State.

After redshirting his first season on campus, Reynolds caught 11 passes for 244 yards and a pair of touchdowns in eight games this fall for the Gators. His best game of the year came on Nov. 19 against Vanderbilt, where he hauled in eight passes for 165 yards and scored both of his touchdowns at the collegiate level. Reynolds also received offers from Mississippi State and West Virginia. He visited Pitt on Jan. 7, where he was seen courtside with Narduzzi prior to the start of the Panthers' basketball game against Clemson. - Pittsburgh Post Gazette

Auburn Football   Former Auburn linebacker Owen Pappoe won't play in the upcoming Reese's Senior Bowl due to injury, executive director Jim Nagy confirmed Friday. Pappoe's withdrawal leaves fellow linebackers Etu Leota and Derick Hall as the Tigers' representatives in the annual college football all-star game and NFL draft showcase, set for Feb. 4 at Mobile's Hancock Whitney Stadium. Pappoe's exit was "disappointing," Nagy said. "Owen's not going to be able to come, unfortunately," Nagy said in an appearance on Mobile's SportsTalk 99.5 FM. "I felt like he needed it [to participate in Senior Bowl week]. Everyone knows that Owen can run...But coming down here, I thought he could help himself in coverage and in the interviews. The guys up at Auburn rave about his intelligence, his football acumen and his work ethic. "That was a disappointing one. I know he was dealing with some sort of injury. He just wanted to be 100% full-go for the combine."

Pappoe, a former 5-star recruit, totaled a team-best 91 tackles, along with three tackles for loss and an interception in 12 games. However, he has reportedly been dealing with a shoulder injury in recent weeks. Pappoe's injury won't require surgery, according to reports. He is expected to participate in the NFL Combine and Auburn's Pro Day, leading into the April 27-29 NFL draft. - Birmingham News

North Alabama Football   Former Auburn wide receiver J.J. Evans, a four-star prospect coming out of high school, has transferred to North Alabama. Evans spent two-plus seasons at Auburn after signing with the Tigers as part of their 2020 recruiting class, which was ranked seventh in the nation, but he left the program one week into the 2022 season and opted to enter the transfer portal. North Alabama announced the addition of Evans on Friday afternoon.

In signing Evans, UNA adds a former blue chip recruit to the Lions' offense as they head into the first year under head coach Brent Dearmon, who was previously on staff at Auburn as an analyst during the 2013-14 seasons.
