11/08/22 - QB Kurtis Rourke, rSr/2025, Indiana + More +   Kurtis Rourke threw for 363 yards and three touchdowns, Miles Cross had 133 yards receiving and Ohio beat Miami (Ohio) 37-21 on Tuesday night. Jacoby Jones made a diving catch in the end zone, his second score of the game, with 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter to extend Ohio's lead to 31-14. Jones also scored on a 48-yarder when he took a short pass and broke a tackle before cutting back another defender on the way to the end zone. Jones finished with 79 yards receiving and Sieh Bangura rushed for 145 yards and one touchdown for Ohio (7-3, 5-1 Mid-American Conference). Brett Gabbert also passed for three touchdowns, each to Mac Hippenhammer, for Miami (4-6, 2-4). Hippenhammer finished with eight catches for 107 yards. 11/08/22 - TE Brock Bowers, Jr/2024, Georgia + More +   Georgia was the new No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings Tuesday night, followed by Ohio State, Michigan and TCU. The Bulldogs' rise from No. 3 was no surprise after their dominant victory against previously top-ranked Tennessee on Saturday. Clemson, which was No. 4 in the selection committee's first rankings last week, also lost, clearing way for changes in the top four. Ohio State stayed at two. The Buckeyes' Big Ten rival, Michigan moved up from five to three. TCU jumped three spots to No. 4, putting the nation's four unbeaten teams at the top of the rankings. Tennessee fell to No. 5 and was followed by Oregon from the Pac-12 and LSU, which jumped three spots to seventh after the Tigers knocked off Alabama. Clemson fell to 10th and Alabama dropped from sixth to ninth after its second loss of the season. 11/08/22 - QB DJ Uiagalelei, rSr/2025, Florida State + More +   Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is prepared to do what it takes to improve his struggling offense - even if that means benching starting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei for more than a series or two. Uiagalelei, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound junior, was removed from each of the past two games, the last a demoralizing 35-14 loss at No. 20 Notre Dame last week that ended the undefeated start of the 12th-ranked Tigers (8-1, 6-0 Atlantic Coast Conference). Uiagalelei will start this week at home against Louisville (6-3, 3-3), Swinney said, but if he can't find his form from earlier this season, he won't stay in. "He has to play better and get back on track. That's the reality of the situation," Swinney said Tuesday. "We've watched every play with him. If you don't play better, someone else gets a chance." Uiagalelei left the Syracuse game on Oct. 22 in the third quarter after three turnovers and Clemson trailing 21-10. 11/05/22 - QB Jordan Travis, rSr/2024, Florida State + More +   Jordan Travis threw three touchdown passes, Trey Benson ran for 128 yards and two scores as Florida State became bowl-eligible with a 45-3 rout over Miami on Saturday night. The Seminoles (6-3, 4-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) outgained the Hurricanes (4-5, 2-3) 456-188 and were never threatened after a 31-3 lead at halftime. Travis completed 10 of 12 passes for 202 yards before being removed early in the fourth quarter. Florida State exceeded 200 yards rushing for the fourth straight game with 225. Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke re-aggravated an injury to his right throwing shoulder early in the second quarter. Van Dyke, who first sustained the injury against Duke on Oct. 22 and missed the next game, favored his shoulder without contact after an incomplete pass. He returned for the next drive but left for good after another errant pass missed its target. It was the Hurricanes' fourth straight loss at home, their longest skid in a season since 1973. They also have not scored a touchdown in nine consecutive quarters. The Seminoles ended their first two drives on Travis' touchdown passes to Ontaria Wilson and DJ Lundy. 11/05/22 - CB Benjamin Morrison, Jr/2025, Notre Dame + More +   Prince Kollie scored on a blocked punt, Benjamin Morrison returned an interception 96 yards for a touchdown and had another interception to set up another score as Notre Dame earned its second straight win over a ranked opponent, beating No. 5 Clemson 35-14 on Saturday night. It was just the third win over a top-10 opponent for Notre Dame (6-3) in its past 10 games since 2018. The other wins were against No. 8 Stanford in 2018 and top-ranked Clemson in 2020. Just as in that 47-40 victory two years ago, fans stormed the field to celebrate. The loss ended a 14-game winning streak by the Tigers (8-1), the longest active streak among FBS teams. It was Clemson's fifth road loss since 2015. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney pulled DJ Uiagalelei for a second straight game, even though he had completed 13 of 19 passes for 78 yards when he was replaced by Cade Klubnik late in the third quarter. This time it backfired, though, as Klubnik was pressured by Justin Ademilola and his pass was intercepted by Morrison at the 14-yard line. The Irish scored three plays later on Audric Estime's 2-yard run to make it 21-0. Uiagabele returned in the next series and drove the Tigers to the Irish 19-yard line before Morrison intercepted the pass to Joseph Ngata at the 4-yard line and returned it for a TD. With winds of 20 mph, and Drew Pyne struggling in recent games, the Irish leaned heavily on their run game, even though Clemson entered the game ranked seventh nationally against the run, giving up 87.9 yards a game. Logan Diggs rushed for 114 yards on 17 carries and the Irish compiled 263 yards rushing, the most rushing yards allowed by Clemson this season. The previous high was 206 yards by Florida State. It was the second-highest rushing game for the Irish this season. The Irish improved to 5-0 when they rush for more than 200 yards. Pyne was 9 of 17 passing for 85 yards and added a 5-yard rushing touchdown. 11/05/22 - RB Maurice Washington, rJr/2023, Grambling State + More +   Maurice Washington rushed for a career-high 201 yards on a scant 10 carries with two touchdowns and Grambling walloped Arkansas-Pine Bluff 36-10 on Saturday. Grambling (3-6, 2-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference), which beat Alcorn State 35-6 last week, now has won back-to-back games for the first time since 2019. Emerging from halftime with a 7-0 lead, Washington broke a tackle in the secondary on the first play from scrimmage and sprinted 75 yards down the right sideline for a two-touchdown lead. Following a Golden Lions (2-7, 0-6) field goal, Washington escaped again - this time running for a 60-yard score.
