There was no way to sugarcoat the latest injury information that Coach Dave Clawson of 19th-ranked Wake Forest had to deliver about defensive back Coby Davis. Davis was lost for the season after suffering a season-ending leg injury in a win over Vanderbilt on Saturday. Earlier in the game, Davis had put the Demon Deacons ahead to stay with an interception return for a touchdown, but now it appears his college career is over. What made Clawson more upset was the fact that Davis battled back from injuries last season and was in the best shape of his career. - Winston Salem Journal

TRACKING TOP DRAFT PROSPECTS - WEEK 2: 23. JL Skinner, rSr, SS, Boise State, 6-3, 220, 1,...We are still seeking clarification on why Skinner was inactive in Boise State's, 31-14, rebound win over New Mexico. It is a bit of a mystery that local media hasn't solved. FWIW, Kaonohi Kaniho and Alexander Teubner stepped up to fill the void. Previous week, No. 24: Skinner looked 100 percent after a spring car accident as he led Boise State with six tackles and an interception in a 34-17 loss at Oregon State. - Frank Cooney/NFL Draft Scout

Miller, the super senior mike linebacker, made seven tackles against Kentuckey but left the game after the opening play of the fourth quarter. As the connective tissue of the defense, Miller's presence can't be overstated - particularly with a matchup against Tennessee's rapid-fire offense two weeks away. - The Athletic
