  2023 ALL-BIG SOUTH-OVC FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION FIRST TEAM: DL - Daylan Dotson, Jr., UT Martin,...Dotson lived up to his preseason hype by maintaining his status as a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award after a strong season on the defensive line. He finished the campaign with 51 total tackles while adding 19.5 tackles for loss which ranked fourth nationally. Along with his work in the defensive backfield, he also registered 7.0 sacks, 17 quarterback hurries, seven pass breakups, a forced fumble and a recovery. He recorded multiple TFLs in eight games - including a season-best 4.0 tackles and two sacks against Eastern Illinois - while notching a season-high 10 tackles and four quarterback hurries against Missouri State. - UT Martin Football

  2022 ALL-OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM: DE - Daylan Dotson, UT Martin,...Dotson had a breakout season en route to earning All-OVC first team honors. He was ferocious in the backfield after tallying 48 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks. He also notched 15 quarterback hurries, five forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries. The Savannah, Ga. native ranked ninth nationally in sacks (9.5) and 14th in tackles for loss (14.5). He was named FCS National Defensive Player of the Week after tallying 2.0 TFL, 2.0 sacks, two force fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries in a road win at Houston Christian. The defensive end also recorded a career-high 14 tackles against Kennesaw State while notching another standout performance with a career-best 3.0 tackles for loss against Eastern Illinois in the season finale. - Tennessee-Martin Football

Dotson played part in three sacks, one solo and combining on two others. Two of his sacks resulted in fumbles, one of which he recovered in the end zone for a touchdown.   OCT 31 FEDEX GROUND FCS NATIONAL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Daylan Dotson, UT Martin, DE, So., 6-3, 280, Savannah, Georgia,...One of the Ohio Valley Conference's top pass rushers, Dotson led the defensive excellence as UT Martin forced seven turnovers in a 52-28, non-conference win at Houston Christian. He had five tackles, played a part in three sacks - one solo and two assists that totaled 20 yards in losses - forced two fumbles and recovered a pair of fumbles. He recovered one of his forced fumbles in the HCU end zone for the game's first touchdown.
