Devante Turner leads the Mules backfield with 900 rushing yards on 163 attempts. He's got 11 rushing touchdowns this season which is third in the MIAA. Turner is second in the league in all-purpose yards per game averaging 157.9 doing so as a rusher, pass catcher, and return man. Turner has three 100-yard rushing games this season and eight games with at least 100 all-purpose yards. Turner totaled 314 all-purpose yards against Central Oklahoma with 190 on the ground, 11 receiving and 113 return yards and was named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week. Turner's returned 25 kicks this season for 561 yards, averaging 22.4 yards per return. He's also got four punt returns for 140 yards including an 87-yard return for a touchdown. 11/16/19 - CB *Caleb Farley, rJr/2021, Virginia Tech + More +   Giving outgoing longtime defensive coordinator Bud Foster a shutout was special for Caleb Farley and the Virginia Tech defense. The fact the shutout came against Georgia Tech was a bonus. Hendon Hooker ran for two touchdowns, Farley returned an interception for a score and Virginia Tech rode its dominant defense to a 45-0 win over Georgia Tech on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets were shut out for the first time in 22 years. It was a dramatic turnaround for the Hokies' defense from last year's 49-28 loss to Georgia Tech. "I don't know if y'all remember what they did to us last year, but I'm pretty sure everybody was fuming to get their hands on some Yellow Jackets," Farley said. Werts had touchdown runs of 11 and 24 yards and a 33-yard connection with Darion Anderson to put the Eagles on top 24-7 at halftime. Donald Rutledge Jr. had a 42-yard interception return in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, which made it 38-14. The Warhawks scored twice in the fourth quarter but each time Georgia Southern responded, including a 42-yard return by Monquavion Brinson on an onside kick attempt in the final minute.
