NOV 1 BIG 12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Kansas State, DE, So.,...Anudike-Uzomah registered eight total tackles, 4.0 sacks for 20 yards, 4.0 TFL and also forced two fumbles in K-State's 31-12 win over TCU. His two forced fumbles a lso would have added two sacks to his total but the fumbles caused on the pass plays bounced forward. His 4.0 sacks tied Chris Johnson for the K-State single-game record and was just one shy of the Big 12 record. Anudike-Uzomah had sacks on back-to-back plays to end the first half and on the first play of the second half. He and Johnson are the only players in school history to have sacks on three-straight defensive plays, as the latter also did so in his 4.0-sack game at Missouri in 2000. K-State held TCU without an offensive touchdown until a late fourth-quarter score. Anudike-Uzomah was also named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week. - Big 12 Football

Drake London briefly broke into tears while sitting on a cart with an air cast around his right leg as he left the Coliseum field, perhaps for the final time. If one of the best receivers in Southern California's football history has played his last coll egiate game, at least his final play was a touchdown catch during a win for the Trojans. London caught nine passes for 81 yards and two scores before leaving with a serious right ankle injury late in the first half, dampening USC's 41-34 victory over win less Arizona on Saturday night.Keaontay Ingram rushed for a career-high 204 yards and a touchdown, and Gary Bryant Jr. caught two TD passes as the Trojans (4-4, 3-3 Pac-12) snapped their three-game home losing streak. They also extended the Wildca ts' epic skid to 20 games, the longest active slide in the Football Bowl Subdivision and the longest in Pac-12 history. But London injured his right leg while making his second TD catch on a 6-yard pass from Jaxson Dart. London, who set an FBS record wit h 79 catches in his team's first seven games this season, returned to the USC bench in the second half with a cast on his leg. Interim coach Donte Williams said "there's a concern" the ankle injury will be season-ending for London, a prime NFL prospect. "Seeing a player like him go down, the whole team felt it," Ingram said. Kedon Slovis and Dart threw two touchdown passes apiece while splitting time behind center for the Trojans in a sharing plan set up by Williams, who apparently didn't tell Slovis or most of the rest of the USC offense about his intentions before the game. - Southern California/AP College Football

Marcus Jones returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown with 17 seconds remaining to give Houston a 44-37 victory over No. 19 SMU on Saturday night, extending the Cougars' winning streak to seven games. After the Mustangs (7-1, 3-1 American Athletic) t ied it at 37 on Blake Mazza's 45-yard field goal with 30 seconds left, Jones took the kickoff at the goal line and broke several tackles before breaking loose for the Cougars (7-1, 5-0). "I didn't think he was going to kick it to me at first," Jones said . "Whenever I saw him kick it, I was going to return it...I saw the seam and I was like, ‘I got to hit it.'" Jones, who also had an interception, has four special teams' touchdowns this season, which leads the nation. "I keep saying he's the best retur ner in the country, which he is," Houston coach Dana Holgorsen said. "I think he's getting to the point where I might say he's the best returner ever. … The things he does are unbelievable, and for him to do it in both punt and kick, it's unbelievable. " SMU coach Sonny Dykes said the Mustangs' uncertainty on the preceding fourth-and-2 play from the Houston 28 before deciding to kick the field goal played a large role in the kickoff return because they called timeout earlier then they would have wanted . "Had I known we were going to kick the field goal, for sure, I would have let it run down, and we would have just squibbed it," Dykes said. - Houston/AP College Football

Raise a glass to Georgia's defense. Or three, actually - one for each second-quarter turnover that turned the rivalry known as "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" into another lopsided affair. The top-ranked Bulldogs and the nation's No. 1 defen se dominated Florida, scoring three touchdowns off miscues in a 12-play sequence that carried them to a 34-7 victory Saturday, their fourth in five years in the neutral-site game. Georgia (8-0, 6-0 Southeastern Conference) later clinched the league's Eas tern Division thanks to Kentucky's loss at Mississippi State. Coach Kirby Smart's team won its 12th straight since getting steamrolled in Jacksonville a year ago. The Bulldogs' injury-riddled defense allowed 571 yards in that one, the most in Smart's six seasons.Georgia vowed to not let it happen again and responded with another demoralizing effort that might be their most impressive all season. "It was real personal," linebacker Nolan Smith said. Florida (4-4, 2-4) managed no points, 11 first do wns and 214 yards through three quarters and looked like its decades-old, NCAA-record scoring streak might be in jeopardy down the stretch. But the Gators finally got on the scoreboard with 2:49 remaining, extending the streak to 418 games. They have sco red in every outing since getting shut out by Auburn in 1988. Emory Jones' late touchdown run, though, did little to negate Georgia's mastery for three-plus hours on a cool, sundrenched afternoon. All the empty seats on Florida's side of TIAA Bank Field told the real story. This one was over by halftime. - Georgia/AP College Football

After watching Kansas State's Felix Anudike-Uzomah seemingly match a Division I record with six sacks in a 31-12 victory over TCU on Saturday, coach Chris Klieman made an observation that should send chills through Big 12 quarterbacks. Or heart palpitati ons through NFL scouts. "I'm sure there's things he can continue to improve and get better at," Klieman said with a slight grin and shake of his head, before adding quickly: "But you have that special day, that's pretty awesome." Anudike-Uzomah, whose sa fety last week against Texas Tech jumpstarted the Wildcats' comeback win, also forced two fumbles against TCU while appearing to shatter the school record of four sacks set by Chris Johnson in 2000.About two hours after the game ended, though, the NCAA announced two of the sacks do not count because they resulted in fumbles that went beyond the original line of scrimmage. By rule, those plays must be counted as rushes by the QB. Regardless, the four sacks that did count still represented a banner day for Kansas State's burgeoning defensive star. "Stay hungry and keep doing what I'm doing in practice, honestly," Anudike-Uzomah said. "This is one game. It's not the end of the season. I need to work hard and work on technique so I can pile on and p ile on." Only three other players in the NCAA's highest division have had six sacks, including longtime NFL star Elvis Dumervil. "How could you not be excited for the kid?" Klieman said. "He set all sorts of records today, and every single one of them wa s critical play in a tight ballgame. Felix earns it. He works his tail off every single day." Skylar Thompson threw for 242 yards and a touchdown while also running for a score, and Deuce Vaughn added 109 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, as the Wi ldcats (5-3, 2-3 Big 12) beat TCU (3-5, 1-4) for the third straight time. - TCU/AP College Football

Facing another tight finish with Troy, Coastal Carolina coach Jamey Chadwell remembered something Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians puts on his play sheet: "No risk it, no biscuit." Chadwell took the risk on a fake punt with about 3 minutes left an d a one-score lead as No. 24 Coastal Carolina held off Troy 35-28 on Thursday night, rebounding from its first loss of the season at Appalachian State last time out. The result was a 12-yard run for the first down by defensive tackle C.J. Brewer that kep t the drive going. "I felt like last week, from a play-calling standpoint, I got a little apprehensive," Chadwell said. "I said, Hey, this week we're going for it." The successful run on fourth-and-4 let Coastal Carolina (7-1, 3-1 Sun Belt Conference) ho ld the ball until the final 25 seconds on the way to their 12th straight home victory. Grayson McCall threw for 294 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for a third touchdown as the Chanticleers overcame a slow start to beat Troy (4-4, 2-2) for a third straight time. "Obviously, we didn't play our best ball, but we found a way and now it's on to the next one," McCall said. McCall connected on scoring throws of 66 yards to Jaivon Heiligh and 71 yards to Braydon Bennett. Still, Troy (4-4, 2-2) mad e it a one-score game on Gunnar Watson's 18-yard touchdown pass to Tez Johnson to draw within 35-28 with 4:52 to go. - Coastal Carolina/AP College Football
