College football teams rarely get a one-year solution to a problem, much less a five-year solution. There's too much turnover, too much that can happen game-to-game and week-to-week, to discount a star player always there, always ready to do what he does . South Carolina had that, in every season since 2017. That reliability, that production, is now relegated to a sticker on the Northwest ramp of Williams-Brice Stadium, where it will certainly face its potential replacements most likely until the end of time, since it's highly unreasonable to think anyone will ever do better.
