  2020 NFL COMBINE INVITE: Benny LeMay, RB, Charlotte,...Charlotte's all-time FBS rushing leader, LeMay posted back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons as a junior and senior. His 3,232 career rushing yards rank second all-time for the 49ers and first for players that competed at the FBS level for their entire careers. LeMay ranked second in C-USA with a 98.4 rushing avg. (1,082 yards total) and led the league in all-purpose yards (120.4/game; 1,324 total).   2019 EAST-WEST SHRINE BOWL OFFENSIVE MVP: Benny LeMay,...Charlotte continued its flair for the dramatic into the post-season as standout running back Benny LeMay scored the game-winning touchdown with under two minutes to play to lift the East to a 31-27 victory in the 2020 East-West Shrine Bowl, Saturday in St. Petersburg, Fla. LeMay, one of three 49ers playing in the senior showcase, scored on a nine-yard run with 1:52 remaining to give the East the four-point win.

He scored twice in the game and was named the Shrine Bowl's Offensive MVP. He hed the East with 80 yards on 16 carries and the two TDs. He also scored on a 10-yard run in the first quarter. Charlotte, which advanced to its first-ever bowl game under first-year coach Will Healy in 2019, scored three game-winning TDs in the fourth quarter, this past season. LeMay, likewise, also continued his high-scoring pattern. He had eight games with two or more touchdowns in his career, including five in 2019. The first-team all-Conference USA selection is the 49ers all-time FBS rushing leader with 3,232 yard in his four-year career.   2019 ALL-CONFERENCE USA FIRST TEAM (COACHES): RB Benny LeMay, Sr., Charlotte,...RB Benny LeMay becomes the 49ers first skill position player to be named first team all-C-USA. He leads C-USA with 127.9 all-purpose yards and ranks second in rushing (103.7). THe first 49er to rush for over 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons, LeMay has put up 1037 rushing yards in his final year. He tied the 49ers school record with seven games of 100 or more rushing yards, including four vs. C-USA opponents. His 13 TDs rank second in C-USA, despite missing two games with injury. He has scored multiple TDs in five games. LeMay cleared 3,000 career rushing yards and ranks second all-time in career rushing, touchdowns (28) and rushing TDs (22). He put up 155 rushing yards in the win over North Texas and had 234 all-purpose yards (144 rushing; 90 receiving vs. FIU). - Charlotte Football

  Benny LeMay ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns and Charlotte beat Old Dominion 38-22 on Saturday. LeMays' 16-yard touchdown run for Charlotte (7-5, 5-3 Conference USA) broke a 7-all tie. Aaron McAllister's 9-yard scoring run early in the second made it 21-7 and Jonathan Cruz made a 36-yard field goal with 7:37 before intermission made it a 17-point lead at the break. Old Dominion (1-11, 0-8) closed to within 10 on Lala Davis' 8-yard run to end a 10-play, 53-yard drive but the Monarchs never got closer. Chris Reynolds completed 9 of 12 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 96 yards on 11 carries for the 49ers. Victor Tucker caught three passes for 118 yards and a score and Tyler Ringwood caught a touchdown pass. Charlotte awaits Sunday to learn its bowl fate. Stone Smartt threw for 173 yards for the Monarchs, who ended the season with 11 straight defeats. - AP College Football

  Victor Tucker scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns, and Charlotte is bowl eligible for the first time with its 24-13 victory over Marshall on Saturday. The 49ers (6-5, 4-3 Conference USA) have won four straight conference games for their program-best sixth win. Tucker ran into the end zone from the 5 on a jet sweep to give Charlotte a 17-13 lead with 10:47 to play. Charlotte's Nafees Lyon intercepted an Isaiah Green pass with about seven minutes left. Chris Reynolds then led the 49ers on an 11-play, 62-yard drive capped by his 25-yard TD pass to Tucker with 48 seconds remaining. Tucker had five catches for 121 yards. Reynolds threw for 166 yards and two interceptions and added 145 yards on the ground, including a 15-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Benny LeMay added 100 yards rushing to surpass 3,000 in his career at Charlotte. Brenden Knox had 92 yards rushing for Marshall (7-4, 5-2).   Chris Reynolds threw two touchdown passes as Charlotte ran up an early lead and never looked back, beating Massachusetts 52-17 on Saturday. Reynolds had 155 yards passing for the 49ers (2-1). Benny LeMay ran for 113 yards on 16 carries. Charlotte scored 28-unanswered points, beginning with a 46-yard touchdown strike from Reynolds to Cameron Dollar on the third play of the game. Ishod Finger scored from a yard out to make it 14-0 and, on the first play following the ensuing kickoff, Henry Segura picked off UMass QB Andrew Brito and returned it 49 yards for another touchdown to make it 21-0 with 4:11 left in the first quarter.

Reynolds struck again early in the second, this time to Tyler Ringwood, for a 28-0 advantage. UMass managed a touchdown and a field goal late in the half but it made little difference as a 53-yard field goal by Jonathan Cruz in the final second put the 49ers up 31-10 at halftime. UMass scored just once in the second half, on a 42-yard punt return for a touchdown by Isaiah Rodgers. Brito threw for 127 yards and a score for the Minutemen (0-3). - Charlotte Football

  Chris Reynolds threw a touchdown pass and ran for two scores and Benny LeMay added two touchdown runs, giving new coach Will Healy his first win, 49-28 over Gardner-Webb in Thursday night's season opener. It was the first time Charlotte scored as many as 49 points in its FBS era. The 49ers were a FCS team from 2013-2014. LeMay opened the scoring with a 1-yard run and Charlotte scored 28 second quarter points. Reynolds scored on a 3-yard run and threw a 3-yard TD pass to Aaron McAllister. B.J. Turner blocked a punt and Solomon Rogers returned it 16 yards for a score and LeMay's 65-yard TD run made it 35-14 at halftime.

Reynolds, 14 of 20 for 136 yards passing with one interception, scored on a 1-yard run in the third quarter and backup Brett Kean (4 of 8 for 50 yards with two interceptions) hit Micaleous Elder on a 31-yard scoring pass in the fourth. The Conference USA 49ers outgained the Bulldogs 508-219 in total yards and 322-159 in rushing yards, led by LeMay's 120 yards on 16 carries. Defensive end Alex Highsmith had two of Charlotte's five sacks. Jayln Cagle scored on runs of 5 and 3 yards, Devron Harper returned a kickoff 99 yards for a TD and Dexter Brown scored on a 35-yard run for the Big South Conference Bulldogs. - AP College Football

He ranked second in C-USA and 26th in the FBS in all-purpose yards (1,525; 127.1/gm) and led the 49ers with 11 rushing TDs, the most by a 49er at the FBS level.
