Dylan McDuffie, Georgia Tech, Player News

Dylan McDuffie had an official visit set up for Oklahoma State after his trip to Georgia Tech earlier this month. The interest that both teams had in the 1,000-yard rusher from Buffalo was understandable, and the appeal to McDuffie of a Cowboys team that has been ranked consistently in the Top 25 and was losing its leading rusher similarly made sense. But he never made it to Stillwater, Okla. "I actually had a visit set up to go to the spring game," McDuffie told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "But I knew after going to visit at GT that that was where I wanted to be, so I didn't even wait." In committing to Tech on April 17 after his visit, McDuffie has added further credentials to Tech's assembly of running backs.

McDuffie, 6-feet and 207 pounds, runs with a combination of vision, quick feet and will. His commitment simultaneously has furnished new running backs coach Mike Daniels with an invaluable endorsement. After he was coached by Daniels last season at Buffalo, McDuffie chose to entrust his career to him again. "Coach Daniels, he's the best coach I've ever had," McDuffie said. - Atlanta Journal Constitution

Dylan McDuffie will head south to continue his college football career, and he will reunite with a former coach. McDuffie, who played at the University at Buffalo for the last four seasons, announced on his social media accounts that he will transfer to Georgia Tech, which plays in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Mike Daniels, who coached the Bulls' running backs in 2021, holds the same position on the Yellow Jackets' staff.

McDuffie, a running back who played at St. Francis and at Sweet Home, re-entered the transfer portal at the beginning of the month. He announced Dec. 31 that he had initially entered the transfer portal, and withdrew from the transfer portal at the end of January. McDuffie led the Bulls in rushing last season with 1,049 yards and 11 touchdowns on 206 carries. The 6-foot, 207-pound back was fourth in the Mid-American Conference in rushing yards, and ran for 1,273 yards and 11 touchdowns on 244 carries at UB. McDuffie will join the Yellow Jackets as a graduate transfer, with two years of eligibility remaining. - Buffalo News

A third-string running back for Bahamas Bowl-bound University at Buffalo has been arrested on domestic violence charges. The school announced Dylan McDuffie has been suspended pending an investigation after being arrested by university police on Saturday evening. The school did not provide any details Sunday of what happened except to say the other person involved is not a student at the university. Coach Lance Leipold called the allegations against McDuffie as being "a serious violation" of the team's code of conduct and added domestic violence will not be tolerated. McDuffie is from the Buffalo area and in his second season with the Mid-American Conference Bulls. He had 150 yards rushing and 25 yards receiving and a touchdown in seven games this season. The Bulls are 7-5 and will play Charlotte in the Bahamas Bowl on Dec. 20. - AP College Football
