  01/08/21 - RB Chase HaydenrSr/2023, Illinois, 5-11, 202 (DS#96 RB) + More +

For the second time in as many days, Illinois football coach Bret Bielema has secured a transfer commitment. Wednesday's came from East Carolina running back Chase Hayden, who previously spent three years at Arkansas. Hayden's freshman season of 2017 coincided with Bielema's last year overseeing the Razorbacks. A 5-foot-10, 210-pound product of Memphis, Tenn., Hayden compiled 62 yards on 16 carries in his lone campaign with the Pirates. The majority of his college production came as an Arkansas freshman and sophomore. Hayden carried the ball 118 times for 577 yards and five touchdowns in those two seasons, adding 12 catches for 84 yards. - News Gazette Tribune

  05/12/20 - RB Chase HaydenrSr/2023, Illinois, 5-11, 202 (DS#96 RB) + More +

Three months to the day after announcing he was transferring from Arkansas, running back Chase Hayden has found a landing spot. Hayden, who played two full seasons at Arkansas and in four games last season to retain a redshirt, is headed to East Carolina. As a graduate transfer, he will be immediately eligible and have two years of eligibility remaining. Hayden rushed for 574 yards and four touchdowns on 117 carries in his Razorbacks career, including 249 yards and three touchdowns as a freshman in 2017 before his season was cut short after seven games with a broken leg. In his first career game, Hayden rushed for 120 yards and scored a touchdown on 14 carries against Florida A&M. He became the third Arkansas freshman to rush for more than 100 yards in his debut. - Northwest Arkansas Times
