  SEPT 23/WEEK 4 MISSOURI VALLEY FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: DL Elerson G. Smith, UNI, 6-7, 245, R-Jr., Minneapolis, Minn. (Minneapolis South High),...Smith recorded a career-high three sacks to go along with a career-high 3.5 tackles for loss and nine tackles. He also had a forced fumble and a knocked down a pass. He led UNI to a stifling defensive performance. The Panthers held Idaho State to 203 yards of offense and just 69 yards rushing. The Panther defense tallied three interceptions, 10 tackles for loss and five sacks. Through the last six games, Smith has 13.5 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. - Missouri Valley Conference Football

His touchdown catch proved the catalyst for the UNI offense as it was the first points of a 34-0 run that allowed UNI to take control of the game. He caught the ball and flipped over the top of his defender to stay alive and score the 56-yard score, the longest of his career.   2019 PRESEASON JOHN MACKEY AWARD WATCH LIST: Kyle Fourtenbary, JR, WKU,...Fourtenbary enters the 2019 campaign with 44 receptions for 398 yards and two touchdowns in his career on The Hill. As a sophomore in 2018, the Opelika, Ala., native made 36 catches for 302 yards and two scores, while also adding a two-point conversion.

Last year, Fourtenbary started in 11 contests and playing in all 12 games, recording multiple receptions in nine games and 20-plus receiving yards in eight contests. His two scores came on Sept. 15 at Louisville and on Oct. 20 vs. Old Dominion, respectively. Fourtenbary had career highs of six catches and 54 yards against the Monarchs, as well as a long reception of 28 yards on Sept. 22 at Ball State. - Western Kentucky Football
