  SEPT 26 BIG SOUTH FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: North Carolina A&T running back Wesley Graves (Danville, Va.) rushed for a career-high 72 yards on 16 attempts (4.5 average per carry) and scored his first career touchdown in helping the Aggies to their first win of the season. His touchdown run from 12 yards out gave A&T a commanding 31-13 lead in the third quarter. Graves had a long run of 24 yards. - Big South Football

  SEPT 26 BIG SOUTH CO-SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: North Carolina A&T kicker Andrew Brown (Lexington, N.C.) tallied 11 points on two field goals and five extra-points in the Aggies' 41-27 win over South Carolina State. He connected on a career-long tying 49-yarder to close out the first half and move A&T ahead, 17-13, and added a 48-yarder in the fourth quarter for the final margin. Brown is just the third kicker in Big South history to make two field goals from at least 48 yards in the same game. - Big South Football

  2021 ALL-BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE SECOND-TEAM (COCHES/MEDIA): OL - Dacquari Wilson, Jr., North Carolina A&T,...Wilson is the Aggies leader along the offensive line, playing numerous snaps during the 2021 season and posting impressive grades week in and week out. Three running backs combined to run for 1,133 yards and 11 touchdowns behind Wilson's O-Line. He was called for minimal penalties this season and missed only a few assignments. "He is the man we rely on to lead this offensive line," said Washington. "His kind of talent translates to great play no matter what league you're playing in.   Kingsley Ifedi threw two touchdown passes and Devin Harrell's interception return for a touchdown helped seal North Carolina A&T's 27-17 victory over South Carolina State in a nonconference game on Saturday. Ifedi threw a touchdown pass to Taymon Cooke that pulled North Carolina A&T (5-5) to 17-13 midway through the third quarter. Jah-Maine Martin broke loose for a 33-yard score about five minutes later and the Aggies led 20-17. Harrell picked off a Quincy Hall pass and ran 10 yards into the end zone with 1:49 remaining. Ifedi was 8-of-18 passing for 125 yards. He also threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Nick Dobson in the first quarter. Martin finished with 16 carries for 85 yards. Kendrel Flowers ran the ball 15 times for 160 yards that included a 51-yard touchdown run for South Carolina State (5-5), which ended a four-game winning streak.   Kashon Baker ran for two touchdowns, special teams added a score and North Carolina A&T defeated Charleston Southern 21-18 on Saturday. Joseph Stuckey intercepted a pass near midfield to secure the game with 1:27 to play for the Aggies (4-5, 3-3 Big South). On a third-and-9 play from its own 7, the Aggies gained 92 yards as Jalen Fowler found Bhayshul Tuten for a catch-and-run. Baker punched it in on the next play. On it's next possession, Charleston Southern was punting from its 30 when the snap went over the punter's head and Jazir Station recovered it in the end zone. Baker pushed the lead to 21-3 with a 5-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Kyris Barnett and Jack Chambers had rushing touchdowns for the Buccaneers (3-5, 2-4) in the fourth quarter. - AP College Football

  Jalen Fowler threw for three touchdowns and his 60-yard scoring pass to Bhayshul Tuten with 6:24 remaining rallied North Carolina A&T past North Alabama for a 38-34 win on Saturday. Fowler's game-winning toss was immediately on the heels of Rett Files' 4-yard scoring pass to Nick Haynes that gave North Alabama its last lead at 34-31 with 6:47 left. Fowler finished 14-for-20 passing for 243 yards with scoring passes also going to Zach Leslie and Kashon Baker. Files threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns. The win marks the 10th straight season the Aggies (3-2, 2-0 Big South Conference) have won three consecutive games. North Alabama (0-6, 0-2) now has lost 10 straight games with the first four starting in its abbreviated 2020 season.   Jalen Fowler threw two touchdown passes and Jah-Maine Martin ran for 105 yards and two scores to lead North Carolina A&T to a 41-14 victory over Robert Morris in a Big South Conference opener on Saturday. Andrew Brown sandwiched two field goals around an 18-yard TD run by Bhayshul Tuten as the Aggies (2-2, 1-0) grabbed a 13-0 lead midway through the second quarter. Robert Morris (1-2, 0-1) pulled within 13-7 with 23 seconds left in the half on George Martin's 8-yard TD toss to D'Andre Hicks, but Taymon Cooke returned the ensuing kickoff 35 yards to the Colonials' 45-yard line and two plays later Fowler hit Zach Leslie for a 22-yard score with 3 seconds left for a 20-7 lead.

Robert Morris cut its deficit to six on their first possession of the third quarter on Jonathan Wynn's 40-yard TD run, but the Colonials would get no closer. Martin scored on a 13-yard run to make it 27-14 after three periods. Fowler added a 1-yard TD pass to Nick Dobson in the fourth quarter and Martin capped the scoring with a 14-yard scoring run with 4:56 to play. Fowler completed 15 of 20 passes for 206 yards with one interception for the Aggies. Martin completed 17 of 31 passes for 203 yards with one pick for the Colonials.   Kashon Baker ran for 139 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries and Jazir Staton recovered a blocked punt for a score as North Carolina A&T rolled to a 37-14 victory over North Carolina Central in nonconference play on Saturday. The Aggies (1-2) jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter on a 39-yard field goal by Andrew Brown and a 47-yard scoring run by Baker. After the teams traded field goals, Jacob Roberts blocked a punt by Juan Velarde that was recovered by Staton in the end zone to push NC A&T's lead to 20-3. The Aggies were in command after Jalen Fowler fired a 24-yard scoring strike to Elijah Bowick with 1 second left before halftime. Brown added his third field goal of the game in the third quarter and Bayshul Tuten scored on a 4-yard run in the fourth to cap the Aggies' scoring. Fowler finished 18-of-28 passing for 161 yards. Davius Richard connected with Ryan McDaniel for a 77-yard TD in the fourth quarter for the Eagles (2-2). Richard completed 21 of 35 passses for 225 yards with a pick.   The roster is never finalized until the first game. South Carolina cornerback Karon Prunty is no longer with the team, having entered the NCAA transfer portal on Aug. 12. Prunty was practicing at first-team cornerback as recently as Aug. 10 (Aug. 11 was an off day) and had appeared at the Gamecocks' media day on Aug. 5. The transfer from Kansas, who didn't give up a touchdown all season as a freshman in 2020, was considered a coup after he picked the Gamecocks over Tennessee. A native of Portsmouth, Va., Prunty said he chose USC because of its proximity to his hometown. "It just felt like home, when I first came here," Prunty said then. "It's closer to home, like five hours away, so I just felt like this was a perfect fit for me." A reason for Prunty's departure on Aug. 12 was unknown, but one source said that it had nothing to do with on-field or off-field issues. It was solely Prunty's decision. - The Post and Courier
