Quarterback Sean Chambers ran for three touchdowns and the Montana State defense forced six turnovers in a 37-6 Homecoming win over Idaho State on Saturday. After the Bengals (0-6, 0-3 Big Sky Conference) opened the game with a quick, four-play drive capped by a 36-yard touchdown pass from Sagan Gronauer to Chedon James, the Bobcats (5-1, 3-0) took over, rolling to their 16th straight home win.

R.J. Fitzgerald capped an 11-play, 71-yard drive with a 2-yard plunge on first possession for the Bobcats, ranked fifth if the FCS coaches poll. Chambers scored on 4-, 13- and 6-yard runs for and Blake Glessner kicked a pair of field goals for a 34-6 halftime lead. Chambers completed 16 of 22 passes for 150 yards and Sean Austin was 8 of 8 for 60. Chambers ran for 34 yards and now has an FCS leading 15 rushing TDs. Lane Sumner had 100 of the 255 yards the Bobcats picked up on the ground. Idaho State finished with 254 yards but Gronauer, who was 16 of 23 for 173 yards, threw three interceptions. Sean Chambers completed 13 of 21 passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 203 yards and three TDs on 18 carries to help Montana State beat UC Davis 41-24 Saturday night. Chambers, a transfer from Wyoming who made his first career start in place of injured starter Tommy Mellott, raced 78 yards for a touchdown on the second play from scrimmage and later scored on the same read-option play, this time from 65-yards out to give Montana State a 38-24 lead with 5:24 left in the third quarter.

Ulonzo Gilliam Jr. ran for 127 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries for UC Davis (1-4, 0-2 Big Sky). His 38-yard scoring run that made it 7-7 in the first quarter was his school-record 41st career touchdown. The sixth-year senior took a handoff and ran toward the sideline before he stopped and threw his first career pass to a wide-open McCallan Castles for a 22-yard touchdown catch-and-run that trimmed the Aggies' deficit to 24-21 after holder Henry Reich ran in the 2-point conversion with 9:58 left in the third quarter. Elijah Elliott had 16 carries for 74 yards and added a 37-yard reception for Montana State (4-1, 2-0). Sean Chambers scored on a 13-yard run for the winning touchdown as No. 4 Montana State defeated No. 15 Eastern Washington 38-35 on Saturday in a Big Sky Conference opening game that had a wild final four minutes. With the Bobcats (3-1) trailing 35-31, a Chambers pass was picked off by Jaren Banks in the end zone with 3:52 left in the game. On the next play, Sebastian Valdez forced a Micah Smith fumble that was recovered by Ty Okada. It took two Chambers carries for MSU to score.

On fourth-and-14 from the EWU 25, Nolan Ulm caught a long pass from Gunner Talkington but when he landed on the turn, the ball popped loose into Danny Uluilakepa's hands and after a long review the Bobcats ran out the final two minutes. There were no turnovers in the game until the closing minutes. In relief of Tommy Mellott, who was injured late in the first quarter, Chambers ran 26 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns and was 6-of-12 passing for 69 yards with a touchdown. His 5-yard pass to Willie Patterson gave MSU a 24-21 lead and his 2-yard run in the third quarter made it 31-21. Sean Chambers accounted for four touchdowns and Montana State rolled to a 63-13 victory over Morehead State on Saturday. Chambers threw an 11-yard TD pass to Willie Patterson and an 8-yarder to Clevan Thomas while Morehead State answered each with turnovers on fumbles about six minutes into the game. Marqui Johnson broke loose on a 23-yard touchdown run and Taco Dowler added a 67-yard punt return for a score and the Bobcats lead 28-0 at the end of the first quarter. Chambers completed 3 of 7 passes for 30 yards. He added scoring runs from 55 and 14 yards in the second half and finished with 127 yards rushing. Tommy Mellott was 16-of-22 passing for 265 yards with a pair of TD passes for fourth-ranked Montana State (2-0). Lane Sumner ran for 168 yards, Tommy Mellott threw a pair of touchdown passes and Montana State rolled past McNeese 40-17 on Saturday night in a season opener. Montana State, ranked fourth in both FCS polls, racked up 438 yards of offense despite committing two turnovers. Mellott was 8-of-16 passing for 152 yards. His 17-yard touchdown pass to Willie Patterson gave the Bobcats the lead for good, 16-10 midway through the second quarter. Mellott's 8-yard touchdown pass to Ravi Alston stretched the lead to 33-10 in the third. Sean Chambers added two short scoring runs for the Bobcats. Josh Matthews caught a pass in the flats from Knox Kadum, broke a tackle and ran 66 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter for McNeese. Punted 36 times for 1,502 yards with a long of 67, nine inside the 20 and five of 50 or more yards. He was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team. At Springtown High School (Texas) Hall had 81 kickoffs for 4,443 yards and 33 punts for 1,432 yards as a senior.

Was 50-51 on PATs and 12-17 on field goals with a long of 49 yards… Helped Springtown to an 11-3 record and an appearance in the 4A Division I Quarterfinals… Was 81-85 on PATs and 10-13 on FGs as a junior…Punted 40 times for 1,707 yards with a long of 52 yards and 16 inside the 20… Added 115 kickoffs for 6,187 yards… Helped Springtown to a 13-2 record and an appearance in the State semifinals. Hall wears a size 14 shoe. He is the tallest punter in college football and we were curious if he played college basketball, but there is no mention of it.
