  Jason Shelley ran for two touchdowns then fired a 55-yard scoring strike to Naveon Mitchell with 58 seconds left in the game to lift Missouri State to a 34-27 victory over Northern Iowa in Missouri Valley Football Conference action on Saturday. Shelly's game-winning throw came after the Panthers' Theo Day and Deion McShane teamed up for two late touchdowns to knot the score at 27. Jose Pizano kicked two first-quarter field goals for Missouri State (7-3, 6-2) and Matthew Cook's second field goal pulled Northern Iowa (5-5, 3-4) even at 6-6 early in the second quarter. The Bears grabbed 13-6 halftime lead on Tobias Little's 1-yard TD run, capping a 12-play, 73-yard drive that took 7:33 off the clock.

Missouri State upped its lead to 20-6 on Shelley's 3-yard TD run early in the third quarter. Tyler Hoosman ran it in from the 2 to get the Panthers within seven points at quarter's end. Shelley made it a two-score lead with an 8-yard TD run early in the final period before Day hit McShane for an 8-yard score at the 5:11 mark and an 18-yard score with 2:14 remaining. Shelley completed 22 of 33 passes for 320 yards for the Bears, who managed only 59 yards rushing on 32 carries. Day was 17-of-30 passing for UNI for 238 yards with two interceptions.   Jason Shelley passed for a touchdown and rushed for two more scores as Missouri State beat FCS ninth-ranked Southern Illinois 38-28 on Saturday. The game featured three made field goals of 50-plus yards. Jose Pizano gave Missouri State a 10-7 lead on a 51-yarder and Southern Illinois kicker Nico Gualdoni tied it at 10 with a 50-yarder and added a make from 55 yards out with one second left before halftime. Shelley was 15 of 28 for 248 yards with an interception for Missouri State (6-3, 5-2 Missouri Valley Conference). Kevon Latulas extended Missouri State's lead to 31-13 with an 87-yard touchdown run in the fourth, and Shelley connected with Tyrone Scott for a 31-yard score for an 18-point lead.   Jason Shelley threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Isaac Smith with 15 seconds remaining and Missouri State rallied to beat North Dakota 32-28 on Saturday. Von Young forced a fumble that was recovered by Eric Johnson at the Missouri State 24. From there, the Bears (5-3, 4-2 Missouri Valley Football Conference) drove 76 yards in 1:24, scoring on third down after two runs netted nothing. A 39-yard Shelley-to-Naveon Mitchell pass was the key play on the winning drive. Otis Weah's 11-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter gave the Fighting Hawks (3-5, 1-4 Missouri Valley Football Conference) a 28-17 lead.

The Bears, ranked No. 20 in the FCS coaches poll, cut their deficit to three points after recovering another North Dakota fumble that led to a 63-yard drive capped by Shelley's 12-yard TD run and a 2-point conversion with 4:33 left. Shelley was 29 of 42 for 349 yards passing, three touchdowns and an interception. The transfer from Utah State went over 2,000 yards passing this season. He also tied the Bears' single-season record with his eight consecutive 200-yard passing games. Tyrone Scott had a career-high 147 yards receiving and a touchdown on 10 catches, setting a Bears record with his fifth 100-yard receiving game of the season.   Jason Shelley passed for three touchdowns and ran for another as Missouri State defeated Indiana State 37-7 on Saturday. The Bears broke the game open by scoring three touchdowns in the final 2:19 of the second quarter. Shelley passed 45 yards to Xavier Lane and the Bears added two more scores - a 3-yard Shelley run and a 26-yard reception by Tyrone Scott - after consecutive fumbled kickoffs by the Sycamores. Steven Ward was credited with forcing both fumbles. Shelley also threw a 59-yard score to Scott, finishing 11 of 21 for 225 yards. Scott had 106 yards receiving on three catches. Jose Pizano kicked three field goals. The Bears, who racked up over 500 yards in total offense in each of their previous two games, finished with 442 against Indiana State. (Benjamin Mays High/Louisville),...Little racked up a career-high 90 yards on 14 carries (6.4 ypc) and scored three touchdowns as part of Missouri State's 41-20 road win against Illinois State. His two first-half touchdown runs - both of two yards - were both go-ahead scores for Missouri State, which led 21-20 at the half. In the second half, he accounted for 35 of the team's 40 yards as part of a 5-play touchdown drive (following Von Young's blocked punt) that put the Bears up for good. (Park Hill South)...Dillon Thomas made a number of key plays for the Huskie defense as NIU held Eastern Michigan to just 38 rushing yards on 24 carries for the game. Thomas tipped EMU quarterback Ben Bryant's pass that was then intercepted and returned for a touchdown by Jaden Dolphin. Thomas accounted for two of the Huskies' five sacks in the game. The first came on 3rd and 4 in the first quarter and forced an EMU punt; then in the fourth quarter, with NIU leading 24-17, Thomas sacked Ben Bryant for an eight yard loss to put the Eagles in a 3rd and 16 down on the NIU 44 which they were not able to convert. - MAC Football

  Tobias Little ran for three touchdowns, Jason Shelley threw for 319 yards and two scores and Missouri State beat Illinois State 41-20 on Saturday. Little had a pair of 2-yard scores in the second quarter and a 5-yard score near the midway point of the third when the Bears (3-1, 2-0 Missouri Valley Football Conference) began to take control. Little's first 2-yard touchdown dive put Missouri State up 14-13 before Jackson Waring threw a 75-yard touchdown to Jabari Khepera 14 seconds later. His second touchdown run with 3:16 left before halftime put the Bears in front to stay. Waring threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns but also was intercepted three times. Shelley accounted for 4 touchdowns -- 2 passing and 2 rushing - while engineering three scoring drives in the Bears first five second-half possessions to ignite the 17-0 Bears run to end the game. Shelley was 19-for-29 for a season-high 281 yards through the air and also racked up a career-high 62 ground yards on 17 carries (94 rushing yards when factoring out sack yardage), including touchdown runs of 26 and 12 yards. His 12-yard TD run in the fourth quarter gave the Bears an eight-point cushion and helped complete the comeback.
