2021 ALL-SWAC FIRST TEAM (COACHES): Wide Receiver: Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim - Alabama A&M,...Ibrahim is just one of 10 individuals to record at least 1,000 yards receiving at the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level in Fall 2021 and is the only one to do so in the SWAC. His 1,008 yards in 10 games rank ninth in the country with all but one of the other eight individuals in front of him having played 11 games. In terms of the SWAC, he led the league in yards receiving by nearly 100 - over teammate Odieu Hilaire - and also topped the conference with an average of 100.8 per game as the only player to average triple digits.

His 6.7 catches per game trailed only Hilaire (7.1) as did his 67 receptions and his eight touchdowns were sixth, trailing two of his teammates among that group. Nationally, his receiving yards per game ranks fifth with his receptions per game and total receiving yards ranking eighth and ninth, respectively. His second career 1,000-yard season featured numerous standout performances, including 177 on eight grabs against Tuskegee (9/25), 133 with a career-high 10 catches the following week at Grambling (10/2) and 104 with a score against Alabama State (10/30) in the Magic City Classic. - Alabama A&M Football

Austin Kendall threw for a touchdowns and rushed for another, Greg Garner scored three times and Louisiana Tech edged Southeastern Louisiana 45-42 on Saturday night. However, it took a fumble recovery by Cedric Woods in the final minute to secure the win. Southeast Louisiana quarterback Cole Kelley ran for 16 yards on third-and-10 from his 19 but was stripped by Ezekiel Barnett, although the first down would have been nullified by a penalty.

Garner had back-to-back touchdowns in the third quarter to give the Bulldogs (1-1) 10-point leads in the shootout. The first came when Kendall threw a backwards pass to wide receiver Kyle Maxwell, who threw the ball into the end zone, where Garner hauled it in while being hit. Garner got his second rushing touchdown after the second of Kelley's three TD passes. Kelley was 44 of 59 for 453 yards with two interceptions and scored twice on the ground while leading the Lions (1-1) in rushing with 42 yards. CJ Turner had eight catches for 131 yards. The Lions had 556 total yards but 10 penalties cost them 100 yards and they had three turnovers. Kendall was 20 of 28 for 250 yards. - Louisiana Tech/AP College Football

An Oregon offensive lineman is out indefinitely. Ducks second-year interior offensive lineman Jonathan Denis suffered an injury last week and was not included on the team's depth chart for the season opener against Fresno State on Saturday (11 a.m., Pac-12 Network). "He had an injury the other day," Oregon coach Mario Cristobal said. "He was just about splitting time with the ones. We think his injury is going to be probably a little bit longer. He may be out for a little while." A mid-year enrollee in 2020, Denis did not appear in a game last season but was with the second-team offensive line at center. He repped at several interior spots during fall camp. - The Oregonian

Arizona's starting cornerbacks this year will most likely be returning star Christian Roland-Wallace and Notre Dame transfer Isaiah Rutherford, who was one of 13 players Fisch and Co. scooped from the transfer portal. The reserve scholarship cornerbacks? Junior McKenzie Barnes and redshirt Malik Hausman, walk-on Treydan Stukes - and Morgan, an incoming freshman.

Barnes had a promising start to his Arizona career, playing in nine games as a freshman, but his productivity on the field has tapered since the 2018 season, while Hausman has mostly served as a special teams player in four years. Initially recruited by Kevin Sumlin, Morgan remained committed and signed with the Wildcats. He told the Star in April: "I'm 100% confident they can coach me and turn me into a man and a great player and get me to my goal, which is the NFL." Morgan's lengthy frame and athleticism coupled with Arizona's lack of scholarship cornerbacks could get him on the field sooner than later. - Arizona Republic

The first wide receiver to commit to Washington State under Nick Rolovich is looking to continue his college football career elsewhere. Jay Wilkerson, a Texas native who initially committed to Rolovich at Hawaii and flipped less than a month after the coach accepted a job at WSU, has entered the NCAA transfer portal, Rivals.com reported Monday. Wilkerson made his college debut in the second half of WSU's blowout loss at USC last fall and recently completed his first spring camp with the Cougars, making two catches for a team-high 50 yards in the Crimson and Gray Game. Wilkerson recorded just one other catch, for nine yards, in the team's two other spring scrimmages. A three-star prospect who also had college offers to Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota and Oklahoma State, Wilkerson had the ability to play both as an inside receiver but wasn't considered to be a first- or second-string option at either position by the end of spring camp. - Spokesman-Review

Not everyone is always on the same page in NFL Draft war rooms. On Friday, an uncomfortable exchange between Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman and senior scout Tom Donahoe was caught on camera following the selection of Louisiana Tech defensive lineman Milton Williams. Roseman fist-bumped everyone in the room, but Donahoe was hesitant. "When we were at pick 70, there were a couple of guys that we liked on the board," Roseman told the media Friday. "We moved back a little bit to see how it would go. A couple of guys that we liked went as well. "These guys spend all year scouting these guys. You get favorites, you get guys that you feel really strongly about. We all do. That's the fun part about being in the draft room is the emotions of it." Philadelphia traded down from No. 70 to No. 73 and chose Williams in the third round to close out the second day of the draft. - Monroe news star
