He led the SAC in sacks with 12 and is ranked ninth in NCAA Division II in sacks per game, averaging 1.05 per game. He made 65 total tackles this season, including 36 solo tackles, with 19.5 tackles for loss, accounting for 95 yards.   The Lenoir-Rhyne Bears, the Wingate Bulldogs, and the Carson-Newman Eagles will represent the South Atlantic Conference in the NCAA Division II Football Championship, the NCAA announced today. Lenoir-Rhyne will be the No. 2 seed in Super Region 2, while Wingate will be the No. 4 seed and Carson-Newman is the No. 6 seed. The No. 6 Bears will host the No. 7 seed Miles in the first round on Nov. 23 in Hickory, N.C. The No. 17 Bulldogs will play host to the No. 5 seed West Florida and Carson-Newman will travel to No. 3 seed Bowie State. Games times will be announced at a later date.

Lenoir-Rhyne finished the regular season with a record of 11-0, capturing their second consecutive SAC Football Championship, while Wingate closed out the season with a record of 10-1 overall. Carson-Newman enters the playoffs with a record of 8-2. The championship game will be played December 21, at 3 p.m. Eastern time at McKinney ISD Stadium in McKinney, Texas and will be broadcast live on ESPNU HD/ESPN3.com. - South Atlantic Conference Football

  NOV 11 SOUTH ATLANTIC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Lenoir-Rhyne quarterback Grayson Willingham, a junior from Matthews, N.C., led the No. 7 Bears to a 45-31 win over UNC Pembroke last week. He connected on 12 of 16 passes (75 percent) for 303 yards and three touchdowns, including a 99-yard touchdown pass. Willingham became just the 44th player in NCAA Division II history to throw a 99-yard touchdown pass. He averaged 18.9 yards per attempt and had a passing efficiency of 296.   OCT 7 SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kyle Dugger, Lenoir-Rhyne,...Dugger, a senior from Fayetteville, Ga., helped the No. 8 Bears secure a 63-6 win over UVa-Wise last week. He returned two punts for touchdowns in the first quarter of action. His first return was for 68 yards, in which he broke five tackles on his way to the end zone. He then returned his second punt for a 67-yard touchdown. Dugger now holds two punt return records at Lenoir-Rhyne, most career punt return yards, and he is only player in program history to have two punt returns for touchdowns in a game twice in a career.
