His 69.2 percent (193-of-279) completion percentage for the season ranks sixth in Division II and he ranks 14th in the nation in passing efficiency at 161.7. Smalls also ranks in the top 25 nationally in completions per game and passing touchdowns, and the top 30 in passing yards per game, and yards per pass attempt. With the game tied at the beginning of the fourth quarter, Smalls went 7-for-7 on a 10-play, 82-yard drive, capping it with an 11-yard touchdown rush.
