  Sophomore Jaret Patterson rushed for a school-record 298 yards and a Mid-American Conference-record six touchdowns and Buffalo cruised to a 49-7 victory over Bowling Green on Friday. Patterson set the single-season rushing record for the Bulls (7-5, 5-3 MAC) with 1,626 yards, passing Branden Oliver's 1,535 yards set in 2013. Patterson also broke Buffalo's single-game rushing record, topping Jordan Johnson's 282-yard effort against Akron in 2016. Patterson raced 81 yards for a TD on his first carry and added scoring runs of 35, 30, 9, 1 and 1 yards. He had 272 yards on the ground with five TDs in the first half.

Kevin Marks added 107 yards and a TD on 14 carries, giving him 1,008 yards rushing on the season and marking the first time Buffalo has had two running backs top 1,000 yards in a single season. Davon Jones rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown for the Falcons (3-9, 2-6). Buffalo had already qualified for its third straight bowl game and the fifth in school history.   NOV 25 MAC EAST DIVISION CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Buffalo RB Jaret Patterson,...Buffalo sophomore running back Jaret Patterson (Glendale, Md.) rushed for a career-high 192 yards and four touchdowns and added 35 receiving yards and another score in a 49-30 win over Toledo on Nov. 20. His five total touchdowns tied a MAC record for a single game. Patterson scored on touchdown runs of 1, 1, 2 and 7 yards. His four rushing touchdowns tied a school record for a single game in the Bulls' FBS era.   Jaret Patterson ran for a career-high 192 yards and four touchdowns and Buffalo’s defense won the day as the Bulls became bowl eligible with a 49-30 win over Toledo on Wednesday night. The two teams came in at the top of Mid-American Conference in rushing, led by the Rockets’ 245.7 yards with Buffalo at 226.5. With Kevin Marks contributing 118 yards and a touchdown, the Bulls ran up 331 of their 503 yards on the ground. Buffalo’s run defense, seventh in the country at 88.4 yards, limited Toledo to 154. Marks got the Bulls (6-5, 4-3) on the board by capping an 80-yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown run. Two snaps later Matt Otwinowski intercepted an Eli Peters pass and on the next play Kyle Vantrease and Patterson combined on a 24-yard pass play for a touchdown.

Toledo (6-5, 3-4 MAC) tied the game but Patterson’s first two rushing touchdowns helped Buffalo take a 28-17 lead at the half. After a field goal for the Rockets early in the third quarter, Patterson capped two long drives and Vantrease another with short touchdown runs. Patterson, who never ran for more than two touchdowns in a game before, moved into fifth on the school rushing list.   2019 BUCK BUCHANAN AWARD WATCHLIST ADDITION: LB Keith Woetzel, Lehigh,...Woetzel has been at the heart of Lehigh's defensive resurgence in 2019. Lehigh's top tackler with 81 stops, Woetzel also leads the Mountain Hawks with 11.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks. On a national level, Woetzel ranks second in the FCS in solo tackles per game (7.4), fourth in sacks per game (1.06) and 12th in total tackles per game (10.1). The Wyckoff, N.J. native recorded a career-high 16 tackles at UC Davis and was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week following each of Lehigh's first two Patriot League victories.

Woetzel opened league play with a 13-tackle, 2.5 sack effort at Colgate and then came back after Lehigh's second bye week of the season with 15 tackles, four sacks and an interception at Fordham. The four sacks tied for the second-highest single game total in school history. Woetzel was also named STATS FCS National Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Rams. Lehigh's leading tackler in each of the previous two seasons, Woetzel's career numbers now include 259 total tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and two interceptions.   OCT 28/WEEK 9 MAC EAST DIVISION DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Buffalo S Joey Banks,...Buffalo senior safety Joey Banks (Sacramento, Calif.) had a game-high 10 tackles, one forced fumble and an interception to lead Buffalo to a 43-20 win over Central Michigan on Saturday. Banks forced a fumble early in the second quarter that teammate Kadofi Wright recovered at the Central Michigan 15-yard line. The Bulls cashed in one play later to take a 17-7 lead. In the fourth quarter, Banks notched his second interception of the season. The Bulls were able to convert that interception into a field goal.   Kyle Vantrease threw two touchdown passes to Antonio Nunn in the second quarter and Buffalo rode a big first-half lead to a 43-20 victory over Central Michigan on Saturday. Nunn tossed scoring passes of 8 and 14 yards around a 15-yard TD run by Jaret Patterson. Kevin Marks added a 3-yard run with a minute left in the half for a 30-14 lead, capping a run of four straight scoring drives, the first two coming after Chippewas fumbles.

In all, Central Michigan (5-4, 3-2 Mid-American) gave up five turnovers. Alex McNulty kicked three field goals and Kadofi Wright added a 40-yard interception return late in the game for the Bulls (4-4, 2-2). Patterson finished with 149 yards rushing on 28 carries and added 59 yards receiving on two catches. CMU's Quinten Dormady was 25-of-37 passing for 272 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted twice. JaCorey Sullivan had 114 yards receiving. - Buffalo/AP College Football

Mack had four tackles, one sack, three tackles for loss, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery in Buffalo's second-ever road shutout against a MAC opponent. With the Bulls leading, 7-0, late in the third quarter, Mack recovered a fumble off a strip sack by teammate Taylor Riggins and dashed 35 yards for his first career touchdown.   Ledarius Mack and Kadofi Wright each scored on fumble recoveries and Buffalo blanked winless Akron, 21-0 in a Mid-America Conference battle between teams still looking for a conference victory Saturday. The win was the second road MAC shutout and first road win of the year for the Bulls. Kevin Marks capped 75-yard drive that covered almost eight minutes of the second quarter by punching in from 2-yards out for the game's lone offensive touchdown, giving the Bulls a 7-0 lead at intermission.

Taylor Riggins stripped Zach Gibson and Mack scooped up the loose ball and returned it for a touchdown to make it 14-0 after three quarters. Wright recovered a fumble in the Akron end zone for a touchdown with 7:54 left in the game. Each team missed two field goal attempts in the game and each team struggled to move the ball. Kyle Vantease was 14 of 23 passing for just 65 yards for Buffalo (3-4, 1-2), but the Bulls ran for 189 on 42 carries. Gibson was 22 of 39 for 193 yards passing for Akron (0-7, 0-3), but the Zips managed just three net yards rushing. - Buffalo/AP College Football
