  Nolan Henderson threw for four touchdowns, three to Chandler Harvin, and Delaware beat Saint Francis (Pa.) 56-17 on Saturday in the first round of the FCS playoffs. The Blue Hens (8-4), who gained an at-large berth and home game after going 4-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association, will play at top-seeded South Dakota State next Saturday. Henderson was 16-of-23 passing for 266, throwing TD passes of 30, 7 and 58 yards to Harvin, a Sam Houston transfer, who had a season-high 128 yards on four catches. Henderson, who took a seat early in the fourth quarter, also had a rushing TD. Kyron Cumby rushed for 111 yards on 10 carries.

Henderson, who reached a program record with 32 passing TDs this season, led Delaware to a 28-3 halftime lead with the Blue Hens already having 331 yards offense and 17 first downs. They would outgain Saint Francis 586-259 with 303 in the air and 283 rushing. Saint Francis quarterback and Northeast Conference Offensive Player of Year Cole Doyle was only 7-of-20 passing for 82 yards and didn't play in the second half after an apparent leg injury. Pitt transfer Justin Sliwoski took over in the second half and led the Red Flash to their first touchdown on a 12-yard pass to Dawson Snyder in the third quarter after Kerry Galloway returned an interception 54 yards from the end zone. Sliwoski connected with Makai Jackson for a 45-yard score late in the fourth quarter and finished with 103 yards passing. The Red Flash (9-3), who went undefeated in the NEC, had a nine-game winning streak snapped. - Delaware/AP College Football

  2022 ALL-CAA FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM: Johnny Buchanan, Delaware, LB, Gr.,...Now a three-time All-CAA selection, Buchanan earns his second selection to the first team. The Brick, N.J. native leads the CAA and currently ranks second in the country with 121 tackles and 11.0 tackles per game. He is also third on the defense with 5.5 TFL while also adding 1.0 sacks, a pass breakup, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.   2022 ALL-CAA FOOTBALL FIRST TEAM: Kedrick Whitehead, Delaware, S, Sr.,...Whitehead earns his fourth All-CAA selection and his third-straight nod to the first team. The Middletown, Del. Native, who currently ranks 22nd all-time at Delaware in tackles (285), is tied for third on the squad this season with 61 tackles to go along with 3.5 TFL, 1.0 sacks and four pass breakups.   2022 ALL-PSAC EASTERN DIVISION FIRST TEAM: LB Jackson Taylor, West Chester, Jr.,...For Taylor, it was another outstanding season in the middle of the Golden Rams' defense. The three-time, first team All-PSAC East linebacker was named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week once, he reached double figures in stops five times and posted a season-best 15 tackles against Millersville. His 97 tackles on the year was a single-season high for the middle linebacker. It ranked seventh overall in the PSAC and third in the Eastern Division. He led the conference in fumble recoveries with four. His 20 tackles for a loss ranked eighth in the nation and second in the PSAC.   2022 PSAC FOOTBALL EASTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Jackson Taylor, West Chester,...For the third straight season, a West Chester football player was named Defensive Athlete of the Year in the East, and for the second straight year, that player is Jackson Taylor. Taylor's 97 total tackles are seventh in the PSAC. He also adds six sacks which is tied for eighth in the PSAC. Taylor was also huge at getting ball carriers behind the line of scrimmage as he was third among players in the PSAC in tackles for loss at 20.0.   Nolan Henderson tied a career high with five touchdown passes and Delaware defeated Monmouth 49-17 on Saturday. Henderson was 22-of-28 passing for 323 yards, averaging 11.5 yards per pass. Two of his TD passes went to Thyrick Pitts. Jourdan Townsend, Marcus Yarns and Chandler Harvin added TD receptions for Delaware (7-2, 4-2 Colonial Athletic Association). Henderson and Kyron Cumby added rushing scores. Jaden Shirden, the FCS rushing yards leader, ran for 202 yards on 26 carries with a 69-yard score for the Hawks, who only had 90 yards in the air against the nation's second-best pass defense (120.2 yards coming in). Delaware scored 21 points in each of the first two quarters to lead 42-10 at the half. Monmouth (4-6, 2-5) lost its fourth straight. - AP College Football
