OCT 14 BIG SOUTH DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Gardner-Webb linebacker Cade Hamilton (Forest City, N.C.) made a career-high 19 tackles (nine solo, 10 assisted) against Hampton, including 13 in the first half. Just before halftime, he prevented a touchdown with a tackle on a third-down scramble at the GWU 2-yard line as the clock ran out. Hamilton's six second half stops were part of GWU's effort in holding the Pirates to 17 rushing yards and just three points in the final 30 minutes. Also nominated for Defensive Player of the Week: Nick Salley (Charleston Southern), Bryson Armstrong (Kennesaw State) and Da'Quan Grimes (Monmouth). - Big South Football
