The first top 10 matchup of the 2019 season did not disappoint. After going into the half with a mere 3-point lead against then-No. 9 Maine, Towson outscored the Black Bears 28-10 in the second half to bring home a commanding 45-23 Colonial Athletic Association win. The Tigers' win propelled them into the top 5 for the first time this season checking in at No. 5 in this week's AFCA FCS Coaches' Top 25 Poll. North Dakota State received all 26 first place votes and remained the No. 1 team in the nation following their win over then-No. 18t Delaware. James Madison, South Dakota State and UC Davis remained unchanged, coming in at No. 2 through 4 spots.

Youngstown State checks in the Top 25 for the first time in 2019 following their 34-14 victory over Duquesne, while Elon jumps back into the poll at No. 22. Villanova makes this week's biggest jump, going up five spots to No. 18 following a dominating 35-10 win over Bucknell. Week 4 will feature a pair of top 25 matchups, with the first being a top 5 showdown as No. 1 North Dakota State plays host to No. 4 UC Davis.
