Former Kansas State safety Marvin "M.J." Martin has committed to South Alabama as a Division I transfer, AL.com has confirmed. The 6-foot, 191-pound Martin played in nine games for the Wildcats as a true freshman in 2021, leaving him with three seasons of eligibility. He totaled five tackles for Kansas State on defense and special teams and returned a blocked punt for a touchdown against West Virginia. Martin is the third Division I transfer to commit to the Jaguars in the current cycle, joining running backs Omni Wells (Mississippi State) and Marco Lee (Virginia Tech). Martin joins a South Alabama safety group that brings back starters Keith Gallmon at free safety and Yam Banks at Husky (nickel), and saw CJ Thompson finish the spring as the starter at Rover. Veteran backup Doug Sullivan also returns, while Ole Miss transfer Jalen Jordan enrolled in January and participated in spring practice. - AL.com
