Shea Patterson will be returning to a TV screen near you soon. The former Michigan quarterback who went undrafted in 2020 and failed to catch on with an NFL team has agreed to play this fall in The Spring League, a developmental football league launched in 2017. The six-team league is set to begin a five-week schedule beginning Oct. 27, with a handful of games selected to air nationally on Fox Sports 1. Patterson is one of two quarterbacks on the "Blues" roster, and opens against the "Alphas" and former Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett ... well known to Michigan fans. Patterson, who has family in the San Antonio area, was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in May. He was waived in July, and has since had a workout with the Houston Texas. At Michigan, Patterson threw for 5,661 yards and 45 touchdowns (and 15 interceptions) while completing 60 percent of his throws. He was a third-team all-Big Ten selection in 2019 and earned an invite to the Senior Bowl. - Ann Arbor News
