It may be time to anoint freshman Cedric Woods as a gamechanger. Matching up with some of the better wide receivers in C-USA in the first two league games, including UTEP's duo of senior Justin Garrett and sophomore Jacob Cowing, Woods held his own. Woods allowed four of six passes completed thrown his way but he prevented the big play from happening as UTEP had multiple drives where it could've taken the lead. Woods' interception was one of the clutch plays for the Bulldogs with 7:04 left. Hardison loaded up to take a deep shot with his team trailing 21-17, but the Carroll product went up and snatched the pass out of the air. "Cedric is loud with his play and I'm proud of the way he's stepped in. We signed (junior college) players, transfers, upperclassmen to come in and help with depth in our young secondary," Holtz said. "But it's been a freshman from Monroe that's wowed everybody." - Monroe News Star
