  07/01/20 - RB A.J. CarterrSr/2023, McNeese

The Arizona State football program loaded up at the running back position during the last recruiting cycle, adding four-star standouts Dea'Monte Trayanum and Daniyel Ngata from Ohio and California respectively. The Sun Devils also went out and got a community college transfer in Raachad White. Not surprisingly, one of ASU's returning backs has decided to seek a transfer. Sophomore rusher A.J. Carter, who had 19 carries for 50 yards in minimal time last season, has opted to leave the program. The 6-foot, 218-pound Louisiana native played sparingly last season but did get a chance to show what he could do given a primary role when starter Eno Benjamin opted to sit out ASU's Sun Bowl game in El Paso, Texas against Florida State. Carter had four carries for 12 yards with a game-best of 15 yards, resulting in negative yardage on the other tries. He also had two fumbles. - Arizona Republic
