Georgia's three-year starting quarterback Jake Fromm announced his intentions to declare for the NFL draft Wednesday via his Twitter account. "I have been blessed beyond measure for every day that God allowed me to be your quarterback, and I pray that his light can continue to shine through the light of University of Georgia," Fromm said in the tweet. Fromm wore the Bulldogs' uniform for the final time as Georgia claimed a 26-14 Sugar Bowl win over Baylor, and Fromm underwent an extensive decision process. An opportunity to declare for the NFL draft remained prominent as various mock drafts had Fromm chosen around the first-to-third rounds.

At the beginning of the season, some pegged Fromm as the potential No. 1 overall draftee. But in many cases, Fromm had many reasons to return by season's end. He didn't have as talented of a wide receiver corps, so his stat line wasn't as flashy. He finished with 2,860 yards and 24 touchdowns as opposed to 30 touchdowns as a sophomore. For Fromm, a chance to play professionally became too enticing. He's one in a series of quarterbacks to declare early - including Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa and former Georgia quarterback Jacob Eason. - Macon Telegraph
